So what are the realistic odds we see Zion this season?

Trying to decipher all of the recent news is a bit confusing.

A) Gonna Happen
B) Likely
C) 50/50
D) Not likely
E) No chance

Seems like the only people that know for sure are Zion and the top brass but recent news makes it seem like it's trending towards likely recently.

Think it’s time he suits up. Clearly his camp thinks he is ready.

I think there’s a fair chance if we win our play in game and make the playoffs.

Pels probably shut him down and Zions camp wants him to play.

I mean, if what you have is working, why would you want to change it right at the end of the season? It’s one thing to come back after the all-star break if one’s been with the team all along, but Zion literally hasn’t been in the same state as most of the other players for the better part of the last year. Letting him play would only cause disruption in the locker room. He won’t play until next season.

take the worst player on our team who is getting minutes (your choice), and replace them with Zion for those minutes. this argument does not make much sense if you think about it this way

we just got blown out by 20 by the team we probably have to beat to get into the 8 seed. you don’t want to make any changes?

What do you have to lose? If we make it out of the play-in, we have nearly a zero shot of winning a series vs the Suns. If Zion is healthy and can play in that series, odds still not in our favor, but are considerably higher.

Because it's Zion, and you can replace Jaxson Hayes with Zion Williamson.

This is professional basketball, not high School sports. Egalitarianism does not exist at this level! He's your most talented player, you play him!

Now minutes restriction seems plausible...

I see your point, but that was a fricking anomaly. They couldn’t miss beyond the arc.

it’s really not an anomaly. we haven’t beaten a healthy top 8 playoff team in over a month

Have you watched basketball…like ever? NBA players have exactly the same ego issues as high schoolers. Bad locker rooms have destroyed many many NBA teams. There is zero chance that someone who hasn’t been with the team all year won’t cause some kind of disruption when he comes in and takes someone else’s spot. He wasn’t there. He didn’t go through what they did to get where they are.

I hope he does play. I hope they welcome him with open arms. I hope they go on a run and win a title with Zion while the Lakers win the lottery so we end up with a #1 pick. I just have my doubts from watching this team over the last dozen years.
