This team has two core players. Meaning management will want them here as long as they will choose to be here.

Everybody talking about Hart not being a core piece or only a 6th man. I think he has a better chance of being our future SG then Lonzo and NAW combined.

I wouldn’t label Kira a core piece before he’s played a game.

BI & Zion

everyone else is expendable.

But Zo & Hart play their roles pretty well.

And by that I mean I wouldn’t list any of them as core pieces right now.

Yeah no rookie is a core player unless they’re Zion

Kira is not a definite core piece. He is an asset at this point like any of our other young guys. Don't act like he was a top 3 pick

I don't think Kira gets traded this year by any means but I'm not yet ready to call him a core piece. I think he could be one in the future. Way too early to tell.

Iggy started his career with

82 GP. 33 min per
82 GP. 37.5 min per
76 GP. 40. min per

Hart

63 GP. 23 min per
67 GP. 25.6 min per
65 GP. 27 min per

Hart also has only started 61 games in his career which isn't a full season. Seasons 3-4 and 4-5 are when guys like Iggy/ Joe Harris started going off. Hart is already close to that pace and hasn't had the minutes and time they had. If he starts playing 30 min with a defined role then I'm not sure anyone can project his ceiling yet.

Our fans are enamored with Hart bc we have never seen a likable, somewhat talented player give 110% effort night in and night out

On a macro level he’s just a guy

No I'm enamored because we have not seen his true potential and he has only grown. I'm not sure BI, Lonzo, or Hart had much if not any development on that Lakers team. People keep saying he's just a guy in years 3 with less than a season of started games when people are foaming out the mouth for Harris who didn't do shite his first few seasons.

I believe the same, minus the fearlessness in the lane and dunking ability.

A SG who can't create his own shot? Hart is not an offensive creator and can't do anything in a half-court offense other than catch-and-shoot 3s, and he only hit 34% of those last year, which isn't anything to brag about.

That's why Hart, as great as he is at several things, is unlikely to become a starter.

What is left to unlock with him?

He’s a 4 year college guy and 3 in the league. You know what you are getting with him at this point, that’s part of the appeal. He’s a nice player and won’t break the bank when the time comes but he’s not some untouchable

Not to pile on but I agree.

Hart is the type of player that if he is your 7th or 8th man you are really happy.

If he is a starter or your 6th man, it’s probably because you are either incredibly top heavy, in which case maybe? But more likely it’s because things aren’t where they need to be.

Love Hart, hope he can stick around and be our 7th man, but I don’t really ever see him as our long term starter unless he develops in a way he hasn’t yet demonstrated.

At this point my hope would be for NAw to develop into that 6th man. He has all the skills you would look for in such a role, and we know he has the talent, his problem has just been mental. Which tbf isn’t something every player can put together.

Yeah Hart is a finished product. He is what he is.

And he is a really useful player. Everyone would love to have a Hart on their team.

But in no universe is he a "core player" unless you are REALLY stretching the definition of core.

Not quite... Igoudala averaged between 17 and 20 ppg for four straight seasons in his prime. Hart will never be that. He’s a quality 3 and D guy, but he’s not prime Igoudala good. Maybe old Igoudala good

There is room for his 3P to develop further if he finds consistency with his shot. I can see him maxing out as a Bodgan type guy if everything goes right for him.

Either way he will make a lot of money in the league as is. He’s going to play 10+ years
