Kira
?
BI
Zion
Adams

Hart

BI could also slip over to the 2 if we went and got a 6'8, 6'9 defensive stud of a wing

Building nicely

If we could get Zo for 12 mil I'd also be down for that because he brings some very nice skills. And would be a really nice trade piece at that price. He's not going to be the 1 of the future, we all know that.

Hart? He is a nice piece to have, but he is not a core player.

That seems about right. Although I would say that Josh Hart seems like the kind of piece you begrudgingly give up in a blockbuster trade. Hopefully the Pels have enough 1sts to spare that they can keep him.

Hart is definitely a core piece. Every championship caliber team has an elite 6th man.

Ok, I should have written core/rotation

He's definitely someone we want to keep around long term

Right now it's just BI and Zion. Hart is a role player and Kira will be in the G league next year.

If Kira becomes Mike Conley we have a 3 for sure.

I don’t see why you would list Kira but not Hayes or NAW.

And by that I mean I wouldn’t list any of them as core pieces right now.

They all still have something to prove.

Hayes I think has a better shot of being a piece than NAW. Could see NAW getting dealt before his rookie contract is up.

Kira definitely has a higher ceiling than NAW. NAW could very well be a core rotation piece, I'm still pretty high on him. I definitely wouldn't project him to be a starter like I would Kira.

I'm still not sure what to make of Hayes and how he fits

The exclusivity of the NBA is amazing. Imagine being the 13th best (not already in the NBA) basketball player in the world, and not being good enough to play in the league next year.

A core piece is one you would NOT include for a superstar. Anyone would include Hart or Kira, even if reluctantly, if required.

We wouldn't include BI or Zion. Therefore we have 2 core pieces.

Semantics I say

Hart would have major value internally, we'd most definitely give up future firsts before dealing him

We don’t know that. He has all star potential, just need to see what he can do this year.

You're either a core piece or you aren't.

A core piece is a player you wouldn't trade for virtually anything unless they demand out and you have no other choice.

Hence, we have two.

Hart is the next level from Core, which is really really good for a 6th man.

No, we have 2. Zion and BI.

Hart is a nice role player, but I don't think he's 100% in long term plans.

We just drafted Kira, who knows if he's going to pan out.

I think if Lonzo buys into his role as a secondary facilitator and doesn't demand something crazy like 20+ mil he's more of a long term guarantee than Hart. He fits really well with Zion and Ingram, as a complementary piece.

The way I see it:

Completely Untouchable:
Zion -
Short of Dallas wanting to send us Luka, Zion isn't going anywhere.

Practically Untouchable:
Ingram -
A team would have to severely over pay for us to entertain any offers for BI, or he would need to be in a package for Giannis or Luka. That's not realistic so he's considered untouchable.

Core Piece but not Elite Talent
Hart -
I think Griff would like to keep Hart because he is a valuable piece, but he isn't an elite level player so you can't really call him untouchable because if he needs to be moved to make a deal for a star he will be.

Still has something to prove:
Hayes
NAW
Kira
Ball

These four could become core pieces but they're obviously not there right now. They could be had in a trade.

Anyone else is a piece that can be had.

Hart is absolutely a core player.
