I'm curious as to your reasoning. Not doubting it, just curious. What leads you to that conclusion?

it's a key principle of reality man.
all possibilities arise simultaneously in space-time.

you temper that with the myriad of personalities and you slim down to what pels gm is willing to risk.

I feel ya man. I gave up on the franchise and just picked my major market team. (Nets) they do things and can potentially win championships on a regular basis now because all new superstars in the NBA eventually try to make their way to New York or Cali at some point. So the Nets or Lakers constantly have a fresh rotation of stars coming in.
Pelicans are a low tier D league level farm for the big boys.

Congrats on rooting for the Nets, and thanks for condescending to post on the board for our minor-league team.

Lol if I bail and it’s a big if, I would roll with another small market team like Memphis or OKC. I don’t think winning a championship star collusion and/or big market style is as satisfying as a fan.

The best moments of fandom in my life were when the Saints won the Super Bowl, when Joey Burrow came out of nowhere, won the Heisman, and led an offense that was antiquated for the better part of a decade to being one of the best offenses in NCAA history, and when Mississippi State Baseball won a championship (I’m a Mississippi State Alum).

I enjoy pulling for underdogs. The wins and the success just means that much more when your team or school that no one else believes in is able to win a championship. The truly unexpected championship runs trump the Yankees, Lakers, Celtics, Alabama, Golden State w Durant, Championship runs in that, those are situations where it is Championship or fail. It’s not as surprising or thrilling of an accomplishment. It’s like damn, they just did what they were supposed to do based off of the talent and/or payroll.

All that being said, if and when the Pelicans ever win a championship, that will be one of the best moments of fandom in my life because the odds are stacked against us and we have Griff currently running a legit title contention window into the ground before it ever gets started.

My soul has never been as available as when I was on my knees muttering “we have to have this ball” during the scrum after the onside kick.

It crazy how people made fun of Brooklyn years ago for their Garnett and Pierce trade. Same with Knicks with Dolan.

Now these dumbass wagoners come out of no where saying how it’s a historic well ran organization.

You can be a total shite organization, but if you are located somewhere “cool” you’ll still get players on your team. You can also be a well run organization and in a less desirable location and you’re looked at as trash.

I gotta admit that the extension was inexplicable. I never did figure out what he was thinking there.

I think he just completely misjudged the market for centers, and thought he was locking in a deal on a player for below market rate. Looking at the market this off-season it was obviously a bad move. Allen was the only center paid above that this offseason, and that was probably one of the worst deals handed out.
