very good article

In years to come, there promises to be a new cable-TV partnership, the NBA All-Star Game will return to the city, the New Orleans Arena will undergo $50 million in improvements, and the franchise, in all likelihood, will be rebranded. The "Hornets" nickname, which followed the team to New Orleans during its 2002 relocation from Charlotte, will probably be replaced by an identity more fitting to the city to which the team is now married, for better and for worse. Though everyone involved hopes the worst is now far behind them.

Of all the possibilities I've seen I'm hoping for Krewe.

Let's trade with the Jazz.

The area populated by Mormons and others around Utah is known as "Deseret", which is related to an Old Testament name for a honeybee.

Sweet. When we start winning back to back championships I can wear my vintage Hornets gear to show my loyalty.

I think the Krewe is what most people would love.

I would like to see either some combo of purple, green and gold, but less gaudy than our Mardi Gras Alternates,

or

Black and Gold...

As much as I would love for us to be the Jazz there's no way this would work. It would just cause more confusion. It took forever for people to stop accidentally calling us the Charlotte Hornets. Trading with the Jazz would have a similar effect. We need something new.

Colombus Crew is in MLS.

But a) that's not the same thing and does not have the same connotations and b) no one gives a shite about MLS.

New Orleans Rhythm
New Orleans Soul

They should take a tip from the Houston Texans..when they cooridnated to plans for their name and logo they held a contest for fans to submit names and artwork. With all of the artistic people in NOLA something great could come out of it.

I like New Orleans Soul as well. Fits the city, goes well with the "Saints" name, and could be sold to a larger market.

Soul sounds like a WNBA team.
