Should this win tonight change Griffin’s thinking about trades tomorrow?

Should we make a trade because we’re ready to contend now? Should they hold fort and see how far they can go? Obviously, you can’t force any trades but also may be time to cash in some of those draft picks as well. Really big win right before trade deadline makes for some interesting decisions for Griffin moving forward. It’ll be interesting to see what he does.

We shouldn’t make any trades unless it’s a no brainer trade. This is a good team. Just let the team gel and Willie continue to refine as a coach with the same guys

I'd be worried if one game made that big of an impact on trades.

No, not really. The two guys who seem to be moved potentially are Naji and JV, and the only other player who might get moved is Dyson if there’s a major move to be made.

I don’t totally disagree with that. It’s not an easy call but maybe just let it ride. You have to judge the whole season but the team has probably overall looked great the past few games.

Obviously you judge the season thats been played but this wasn’t a small game. Games like this can be determining factors in what to expect for this season and I do think recency bias always plays a part in these type of decisions.

Nope.

Move Naji.

Move JV if you can get a center upgrade.

The rest can stay for now.

I don’t think anyone that’s available moves the needle that much. I’d hate to mess up the chemistry that these guys seem to have

Yes, they just proved they can beat a WCF team, let's go for it this year while still staying under the tax. With no real Center upgrades available now (Turner, Allen, WCJ, Okongwu off the board)-- go make the good, pick-based offer to get Caruso and Drummond.

JV, Naji, (EJ), 2 lightly protected 1sts
for
Caruso, Drummond

JV can be rerouted to a 3rd team (Sixers, Spurs, Knicks?) for a 2nd or two to Bulls.

Pels embrace the small-ball switchability, adding another high-IQ, elite perimeter defender who can shoot and playmake. Drummond can start as ahort minute big body rebounder, with Nance continuing his role as switchable big for closing lineups, with more time with Zion at Center lineups.

Drummond/ Nance/ Zeller/ Karlo
Zion/ Trey
Ingram/
Herb/ Caruso/ Hawkins
CJ/ Dyson/ Jose

They did 2 very interesting things last night that should make Griff want to see more.

1) Zion and BI were some of the more active Pels on defense last night. He may have had better games, but I'm not sure I've ever seen Zion that engaged on defense.

2) With JV out they played a decent amount of time with no center, not even Larry, and they did ok.

An interesting story from the ESPN broadcast is they said BI has started having his personal chef travel with him for road games. BI, if you get $50 million a year from the Pels, you need to spend some of that bringing Zion's chef along too.

We would need to be the team getting the firsts for me to even consider that.
Your proposal would be a belly laugh no

Griff doesn’t strike me as a stupid person, making long term decisions based upon a single game would be stupid.

I say sell the team and move them to a different city. Won't have to worry about it. NBA sucks now anyway. Get a MLB team.

Caruso has more trade value than Val, by a lot too.

And none of the other guys really move the needle. Now maybe the deal as it is just doesn't make sense for us(it doesn't), but there's no way they would have to add more to what is essentially a JV for Caruso deal since Val's value isn't close to Caruso.
