To add to the list of workouts

Wendell Moore
David McCormack
Jamal Cain

They might not play a lot for our team but you can replace Jared Harper, Gary Clark and Tony Snell fwiw.

Looks like we’re bargain shopping for 3 and D wings and a potential long term replacement for JV.

Any of these guys could be drafted with a second or get a summer league invite.

Considering that our scouting department hit on Herb and Alvarado last year, those 2nd rounders may end up being a lot more than they normally are worth, quality wise.

This might be the worst pre-draft interview clip I have ever seen. First, he does not seem to know a single player on the Sacramento Kings, including De’Aaron Fox who played for the same school and coach as Sharpe. Most star players are big fans of the NBA entering the league, but it seems that Sharpe instead believes that the NBA should be a big fan of him. In spite of his highest level of basketball played being the EYBL Peach Jam, he believes he can come in and give proven NBA players like De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis “their little shine” by finding them when they are open. This is a wild intersection of bad awareness and gross arrogance, as if he is above the NBA without even proving that he can be a competent college basketball player.

Accidentally downvoted you, my bad.

Interview was pretty cringe and he came across totally unprepared. Pretty hilarious the Kings posted that.

Don't forget how he can "guard 1 through 5" even though highschool kids smoked him regularly....

I think that's an extremely pessimistic take on Sharpe, but I also don't think it's wrong. Honestly the irrational confidence doesn't bother me if I were looking for him to come in and be the #1 guy. It just seems like a really poor fit with what the Pels are building, poor enough that I don't think they should draft him if he falls to 8. Take your guy or trade back.

I've cooled on Sharpe to the point I dont really want to take the gamble, even though I might regret it, but some of the hate comes off like "bitch eating crackers" energy with him

Sharpe is going to be a total bust. I hope someone drafts him ahead of us, so it'll leave a better prospect for our pick.

How much of this is him being a dipshit and how much is him intentionally doing things to have the Kings pass on him?

If someone tried to pull this shite on about 27 teams in the league, it would make me not want them.

Pulling this on the Kings may be a gambit to force himself to a better situation.

Edit - Don’t particularly want him at this point but I think it is a valid question as to whether he is intentionally fricking with the Kings to go elsewhere.

Said it a while back--I hope he drops and flops.

Don't want this "players not playing" thing to become a trend. Even more so now that he has admitted that it was his decision not to play and "it worked out--since he's talking to NBA teams now"

He has appeared as dumb in all the interviews I've seen of him

You have absolutely no way whatsoever to know that.

Damn that whole blog makes you not want to touch Sharpe with a 10 foot pole.

Especially the long armed SG part that almost always busts.

The "their little shine" may seriously be my favorite clip in quite a long time. It's absolutely hilarious.

That's getting universally trashed.

I haven't watched Sharpe play and all I have to go on is the interviews and what everyone is saying about him.

He may become a great player.

I just don't feel comfortable taking the risk.

I think that may be a little bit of cherry picking your sample size though.

You could just as easily list, Donavon Mitchell, Anthony Edwards, Anfernee Simons, James Harden, Malcolm Brogdon, Dosunmu, Dejoante Murray, Bogdanovic, Devin Vassell, SGA, as long wingspan guards that have done just fine.

Again, still probably rather go another direction, but I feel like there is a lot of stacking the evidence to one side going on with Sharpe out there.

if sharpe is there at 8 it means mathurin, daniels are both gone. at that point the decision to stay at 8 gets squirrely unless they really like sochan or griffin (or dieng?)

Really hope one of Mathurin or Daniels is there at 8. I like Mathurin. but am fine with Daniels. If both are gone, it likely comes down to Griffin or Sharpe. I would not trade down just to trade down. We would have to get a nice package to do so.

I've done a weird 180

I think I was the first to mention Daniels on this site as someone to look out for.

Then his ho hum shooting and early play for the Ignite soured me and I eventually was fully out.

then he started doing some of the things people hoped for him at the end of the season, and has been a combine warrior(which can be scary to rely on).

Now I think I slightly prefer him over Sochan cause he feels like, if we can get his shot right(and the form looks good when he shoots in one smooth motion), you basically get a Lonzo/Hart clone with better PnR ball handling and can play on or off ball....Which is sort of perfect.

But a lot comes down to can his accuracy be corrected? Cause it's a bit worrisome that despite solid to great form, he's terrible from three and the line.

Worst case scenario you get a poor-mans Shaun Livingston, best case scenario you get a high level starter that is the best of Lonzo and Josh Hart's games + better PnR creation.
