teams leaking stuff trying to get better offers, look at the Adams and Val trade a few years ago it just happened no lead up when teams are serious about getting something done they keep quiet.
but there’s been trades in the past that get some buzz and leak and eventually come true. Works both ways

Yeah any time report's like this gets out a trade never goes down. It's teams leaking stuff trying to get better offers, look at the Adams and Val trade a few years ago it just happened no lead up when teams are serious about getting something done they keep quiet.

That wasn't a huge blockbuster trade either. These big trades always get leaks coming out before it actually happens, it happened with the CJ trade. The only big trade we never seen anything about was the KD deal and that’s because both teams made a pact to keep it quiet.

Haven’t read the entire thread, but If Shams is reporting this, folks should remember he has legitimate links and ties to Zion.

Shams and Jordy are historically the only 2 media types that Zion’s camp shares any info with.

Its more a soft reset and its nothing against BI but we know what kinda ceiling he has with this team now.

His ceiling is plenty good enough as a #2.

Tell me how would we be taking a step back?

You think Scoot would be better than BI year 1?

Scoot is unlikely to be on BIs level for at least 3 years (if ever).

Scoot comp is Prime Westbrook (Which people forget was a league MVP)

BI will never sniff that

You don’t think Scoot can make more than 1 all star game?

Ingram wasn’t playing when Zion had this team as the best in the west, so this is a moot point.

I would much rather trust throwing the entire team and the “leadership” role to Zion as a motivator to get him to start taking shite seriously and knowing this is HIS team than to be fighting for a play in spot every year which is our ceiling with Ingram as the “leader” as shown the last two years.

Zion gets his health right, as the undisputed leader of this team he brings a championship here in the next 3-5 years. Get him a running mate like Scoot ALONG with the space under the tax to bring in someone to take playing pressure off like Collins also? Zion brings multiple championships in his career here.

Portland is kind of in limbo ownership wise so i could see the front office and coaching staff having more power to make this type "win now" trade than most franchises.

Paul was invested but his sister Jody inherited Trailblazers and is secretly shopping the team. I do not see her as invested long term and winning next year would increase the value and options for a sale.

A) it takes even great players awhile to adjust to the league and be true difference makers.

B) Do you want me to list top 3 draft picks that were compared to AllTime Greats that sucked arse?

I think Scoot’s ceiling is higher than BIs.

Y’all are missing what my only point was.

No one believed that a lot of players would suck arse.

I don’t believe that Scoot will suck arse.

But it’s possible that Scoot will suck arse.

Every top pick has as comp of a player that good. The vast majority don't hit that mark.

I can't say myself as I don't follow it, but even a guy like KoC while he loves Scoot, just the other day on I can't recall which pod, he was saying it's no guarantee that he's going to be THAT good.

Possibly and with BI on this team the last 4 years we’ve sucked arse. I’ll take the chance.

Wait, you think that Zion team without BI could have actually beaten Denver in a playoff series?

Because that's the only way it makes sense to say it's a moot point. If not, then the point certainly matters.

Man idk about this plan…it’s a bold plan, high variance…I’d really like to keep Ingram if at all possible.
