This move tells me that Hayes is going to be part of the rotation. Limited role or not, Hayes is definitely going to see the court this season.

I wonder if we're making room for someone. Have we signed JJ yet?
Its the whole point, imo. Not sure why people are talking about it like Wood, hanging on to an NBA career by a thread, turned down a roster spot for other options.

We've been at 15 roster spots without Redick. Somebody had to go. My guess is it came down to Okafor and Wood. Jah seemed to really ingratiate himself with the franchise since he's been here, was the only player at Zion's presser etc.

Can you read? I said we at least hope Hayes is as good as Wood is now I didn’t say that’s his ceiling. I also didn’t say Wood has hit his ceiling which is another reason I would keep him instead of Jahlil who I believe has hit his especially with the way our offense and the game in general is played today.

There's also the Duke connection. We didn't shift form UK to Duke for players, the GM is from Duke too.

We didn't have to cut him now. We definitely weren't waiting to do this to sign Redick. We can have 20 signed until the end of camp.

I think that Wood thought that he performed well last year and wanted a bigger role on the team than being the 3rd-string 4. Since that's not going to happen, he wanted out.

Griffin cut him after trying to get something for him and finding out that he wasn't worth anything.

At least, that's my take.

No, if Hayes tops out as Wood, it will be a bust of a pick, what are you talking about?

You realize Wood literally has no trade value right now...you think if Hayes tops out as THAT, that we'll be happy with that pick?

That's why he didn't play in summer league-- his agent told us he wanted out.

Only explanation.

I see how you didn’t quote the whole sentence. Fake news.

I can read. Do you have a brain? Wood played garbage time last year on a tanking team. Are you dumb enough to take that at face value? We don't even know how good Wood is now and Hayes could be better now. Did you actually read your post and think it was smart or made sense?

It's irrelevant because you're saying if Hayes tops out literally as journeyman 23 year old with no trade value who can't make a 15 man roster, we should be ok with that and anything extra is icing.

I'm not sure you could be more wrong if you tried, so there's that. If Hayes tops out as Wood, the pick will be a bust.

I feel like we should respond to anything you say with this quote over and over again in perpetuity.

So all of you would’ve kept Jahlil instead of Wood?

Woods per 36 with us 25 pts 12 rbs 2 blks yeah I hope Hayes is that good and yeah I believe taking him into the season is better than cutting him now.

Edit: “Journeyman” and “Garbage time player” is code for I don’t want to back up my statements with actual stats.

I’m taking all of Woods stats with a grain of salt. He only played 8 games and it was clear those squads we played were either trying to tank as well or didn’t give a shite

I am too to an extent but watching the games at the least he has a talent for blocking shots and getting rebounds. Jahlil can only do 1 and at the moment Hayes can only do 1 as well.

I will admit I don’t know helli about Melli, but with roster as it stands Wood would be my first big off the bench.

Are you that dumb? "garbage time" player is my pefect argument to backup your actual stats. They mean nothing. They show he has what it takes to be on an NBA roster and that's about it. Anything more for Wood is icing on the cake right now.
