According to Dua we took Bey into a trade exception, and created one with KO.

So we have one for Bi and KO, and the MLE.

I have done no research on this, but sounds like Shammit says we can absorb Bey into an existing trade exception, and then create a new bigger one from Olynyk. That’s certainly interesting.

It would be 13mil if its his full salary. And id imagine Bey took Vals 10mil TPE. Which would leave us with (2) 13mil TPEs?

Still isn't moving the needle. It helps fill out the bottom of the roster but the top of our roster is not great. Still don't have a C or PG to start the season and by default definitely not contending for anything.

I don't necessarily want to trade Zion but how many years are we going to go without actually even having a chance of contending before we pull the plug? Just do it already.

We really only have space under the luxury tax to use one. Could help make larger trades work possibly though.

No way Dallas would do this.

On another note its really nice having #7, #23, and #40 in this draft.

If we can trade Jose/ Hawk + #40 and get back into the 30's that would be nice.

Eh. Combing through the details this deal makes a decent level of sense.

He's only terrible if he's your #1 option. As a third option, he's very capable. He also can run the P&R offense and can handle ball pressure. Something we had issues with for years

He wasn't great at Golden State, either

I can see them dangling things like that to move up from 23 to get someone like Clayton

You keep saying “contending”.
Contending for what exactly???? We’re no where near contending for anything

I'd rather 23 and 40 to get back into the teens.

Clayton was asked to name the 3 people who he would have dinner with and the first name out of his mouth is Spoelstra. I don't like having to trade up and picking him in the teens. He's not a point guard.

Then why is Zion on the team? If we aren't getting closer to contending or contending then blow it up. There is no inbetween. Are we competing or rebuilding? The time to acquire assets and make minimum changes was every other year the last 6 years.... Now its either put someone with Zion to contend or trade him.

The fact that we just traded CJ for Poole tells me we are definitely planning to do 1 of those things. And trading Murray makes alot of sense right now. Apparently SAC really likes Murray and Herb and are open to trading Sabonis....

Yeah I’d rather go for one of Bailey, Fears, Tre at 7 and then try and move up to get a big. Sorber, Beringer, or maybe they just take a swing on upside and go essengue if he’s available still. Not the biggest Queen fan but he’s another big they may trade up for.

Just got in from work to see this and I don’t know what to think but it just seems weird. I’m guessing there will be more moves and probably some less than popular among the fans.

The ones who hired Joe Dumars, who hasn’t done anything right since about 2004.
