I think we were going to see an underwhelming return on BI no matter when he gets moved.

Most people already knew this once it was revealed that there were no market for him and his salary demands this past summer.

Your GM/POBO has to either be smart and knew ahead of time to trade him when his was at his highest especially if they dont intend to keep or commit to him when he was first eligible. Griffin did neither and here we are looking like unprepared dumbasses once again.

Idk how people can defend griff still. He hasn’t been horrible but mistakes like this for a small market team can cripple them. Especially when the writing has been on the wall for years. This core group of players was never going to amount to much

Reality is BI is not getting anywhere close to what he will ask for from any good team. He won’t go to the Lakers unless traded there.

Pels need to simply call his bluff and let his contract expire. Don’t do anything to help him go where he wants. Eat the sunk cost and move on.

The fact is there is no team what BI would like to go to that wants BI.

First domino fell and BI is with Klutch and is now the top free agent in the offseason market. Oh, but I know how this goes, BI will never get a near max or max contract with a Contendor because he doesn't hold that league wide value. Then next .....

Man some of you all shouldn't believe your own hype, and then continuing to double and triple down on bad takes (we all have them). Shite could have been avoided and so different for the Pels. BI wanted to be here and has always needed a real point to unlock him but they keep giving the keys to someone who may have never really wanted to be here.

On a max contract. If he just wanted to be here- he would have agreed on a contract by now. He was given an extension the summer before and rejected it.

Wait, what?

He wasn't the top free agent but since he's signed with Klutch, "now" he's the top free agent. I'll ask again... What?

You realize nothing happened today to prove you right or anyone else wrong, right?

Seems you don't realize that, which is odd.

Also weird that you're here quoting me telling me I'm wrong for saying something basically word for word that has been said by every major media outlet, and is still being said right now by every person with a pulse on the NBA beat. Hell, Windy just said it and like him or not, he's as plugged in as it gets.

So, again, what?

I didn't say it, Shamit posted this on his X .....

I just don't get how you don't understand. You may feel a certain type of way but you just may not be right. It happens ..... just be for real and not tied up in knots with your absolute certainty.

Only two parties know what he asked for, and more importantly, what the Pels offered

Its been reported he wants max or near max. Also reported pels don’t want to give him that. I mean if you don’t believe in the credibility of nba reporting thats a different issue.

No, not that. Just saying there are a lot of numbers between 25 and 50.

Come on its max or near max. So thats around 45-50. If it was close- deal would have been done.

The point is BI REALLY wanted to be here- this wouldn’t be an issue. Im not judging him on that- go get your money. But he doesn’t want to be here unless he gets his money.

For sure, all day. But what did the Pels offer? Only two parties know and it could have been South of that range.

Im positive it was. He makes $36 mil now. Id say at most its $40 mill and likely on a short deal. I understand it from the pels perspective- they just signed Trey and brought in Dejounte. BI trying to hit his big pay day. In the end- its a divorce thats bound to happen. The issue has been Griff and his inability to trade him earlier- that has messed up everything. Once BI declined the first extension offer two summer ago- he should have been traded.

Maybe, but only two parties know and BI spoke to value right before training camp. Doesn't really matter now and shite is backing up the Loo. Pels need to come clean quick cause this could get worse real quick.

Nothing has happened to make me wrong, so explain why you're taking a victory lap that you proved me wrong...

I'll just repeat, the thing you quoted and implied you proved me wrong on, is the same thing Windhorst is reporting.

So unless you got better, rock solid sources than him, I'm not sure why you're thumping your chest that you proved anything I said to be false.

My guess:

Relationship between Ingram and Zion beyond repair. Both requesting trade from Pelicans.

LOL these couch jockey fans know nothing. Every story about the Pelicans breaks from national media. The local pelican press is a joke, made up of glorified fans with computers and twitter accounts.

The local press knew this and was discussing BI to Klutch for 7-10 days before Shams "broke the news" yesterday...
