Absolutely not.

You do this deal only if you want to hinder Zion and BI's growth for 2-3 seasons.

Minnesota would be a great target for him though, send out Johnson and Culver, #1, their other 2020 pick and a unprotected 2023 1st. Saves Houston 19 million this year.

While i absolutely hate the way Harden plays, a pick and roll with him and Zion, and even Hayes, would be unstoppable.

I said it before, ideally i'd like to run a pick with Hayes and have him crash to the rim, if you have a ball handler who is a legit threat to get to the rim and finish as well as make that ally oop pass, it will be very difficult to stop. The key to it all though is having Zion cutting to the goal following the pick and roll. If you position Zion on the court where it's his man that has to be the one to help on the pick and roll, then he can start his move to the paint following Hayes and we've all see what happens when he has a small head of steam and space going towards the goal. If you can cover all of that, then you have BI and JJ knocking down wide open 3's all day.

No to Harden. He is too ball dominating for any team he is on to win a chip.
Plus, this would relegate Ingram to the same issues he had with Lebron of standing in a corner and waiting for a kickout jumper, which he got better at last year, but his game is so much more than a spot-up shooter. Ingram should be the only iso player on the court for the Pels. Harden would even render Zion to having to take a plethora more 3's than the team would be comfortable with.
HARD PASS!!

No need to even talk about the problems he would cause for the team's defense, which is the biggest offseason issue to be addressed.

I dont understand why people shite on a Harden move.

That's guaranteed 80-90pts a night between three guys.

We would essentially just need the bench and others to contribute 30-35.

Easily a playoff team. Even in the WC.

It would work if you like giving up 125+ points a game. Do u think swapping an ALL-NBA defender for a defensive sieve would make us better defensively and not cause chemistry problems??

Playoffs is not the goal, winning championships is.... Harden is not a championship player. Period. He is this era's T-Mac. Just can't get it done when it counts.

He's a regular season only player that folds in the playoffs.

Having 3 guys that need 20 shots a night leaves absolutely nothing left over for your bench, you end up with a VERY shallow team that nobody wants to play on because they get no opportunities.

You hinder your growth of your young players, you have no depth (which is essential in the playoffs), you hinder BI and Zion's growth because you have a 3rd ball dominant player.

There is literally every reason to shite on Harden, especially with this team.

And thats not even factoring in everything you would have to send out to get him.

Harden did not always play that way---his game was much more versatile pre Mike D system

There's nothing wrong with Harden's defense. He plays good D when it matters. If you think his defense sucks it's b/c you've seen the gifs of his lazy defense in the past. He's a really good one on one defender.

And I think he'd be fine allowing BI to do his thing while he does his. I think at this point in his career, he knows the writing is on the wall, and if he wants to win a championship, he's got to find another guy he can play with and rely on to score on his own.
I also think you could see him demanding Zion do his thing in the post.

I konw it's his thing to hold the ball and take an iso shot, but he'd have to get better at moving the ball for me to be ok with this. Not that i don't want to see iso stuff from him, but for the most part, i want movement from everyone, not everyone watching Harden go one on one 30 times a night.

Zion doesn't need to be ball dominant to dominate, or to grow. Every dribble he takes lessens his chances of success.

Exactly. He’s one of my least favorite players of all time to watch. It would be a total chore and basketball is for entertainment.

For Zion to reach his full potential he needs to be able to go full iso and develop his ball handling skills. It's something that was talked about alot around here as a hindrance in AD's game, and one that would be talked about in Zion's game.

SVG hates iso ball and really keeps his players away from that. Motion offense.

Did I miss the part where he was hired as coach?

Either way, no matter what a player needs to be able to create his own shot. We have a kid that who if he stays healthy and lives up to his potential he would be talked about in same breath as Jordan, Lebron, Magic etc.

Do you really want to hinder his growth for a couple seasons of Harden? No, you bring in players to compliment him and help him grow, not players to take the ball away and stunt his growth.

No need to even worry about this scenario. Aint happening. Dont think Griffin would want to have same issues that presented themselves with the arrival of Lebron.
Harden wouldnt acclimate himself to a family oriented atmosphere that Griffin harps on. If you want 3/4's of the team at various strip clubs in N.O., then Harden is your guy.

I fricking hate Harden, but yeah you take that move and we’d learn to love him pretty quickly. He is a top 5 nba scorer and would make Pels a top 5 NBA team.
