RealGM posters call this the “Laker Tax”.

The reason for this is because the Lakers and their allies pull shite like this to try and strong arm teams.

Yeah, they would have to send Hayward out to match money (which I dont think they would have an issue doing)

Salary wise it would work with

BOS: AD,Conley
NO: Smart, Tatum, Williams
MEM:Hayward

Lakers should be out of the conversation. I don't care if they offer up the best package. This type of behavior cannot be condoned. It's like trying to negotiate with terrorists.

My conspiracy theory is that Silver gave us Zion on the condition we not trade AD to LA.

He obviously has to do something to reel that jackass RP in. Maybe that’s the under-the-table deal in place to send a message to players that they don’t get to dictate trade destinations.

I know...

we've been knowing that, and he's going to sign a 1+1 so he can get to the 10 year mark and then sign his max contract. That's how he maximizes his pay, and the difference between doing that and signing the supermax with us now isn't that big of a difference.

Given how injury prone he is, and what we've seen with Paul George, Gordon Hayward, Cousins, Wall, and Durant, seems like a really stupid and risky plan, especially considering someone is guaranteeing you get paid on average $43M/yr for the next 6 years by signing a contract now.

Found the statement:

quote:

“Where he’s going to land? I have no idea. And it don’t matter. We’re going into free agency. Why does it matter to me where he goes? Earth: We’re going into free agency. He has a year, he has to play. But after that, I can’t say it no bigger: WE ARE GOING INTO FREE AGENCY. 2020: ANTHONY DAVIS WILL BE IN FREE AGENCY.”

If I'm DG I call Pelinka and say

"You want him? Fine, I want it all...

Ball
Ingram
Kuzma
Hart
#4
2020 swap
2021 1st
2022 swap
2023 1st

Thank Rich Paul and Lebron for fricking your organization"

This is now a shot to ALL teams that are even thinking of trading for him not named the Lakers

Nah, financially it makes the most sense for him to just go into free agency in 2020. I don't think it's anything new. I just want someone to ask the question as to how he's going to sign a max deal with the Lakers next offseason. Are the Lakers going to sign a bunch of 1 year contract again, and waste one of the few remaining years of LeBron?

more. Teams are only allowed to trade future picks for up to 7 seasons.

I want all picks for those 7 years in either unprotected or a swap.

That's what I've been saying for awhile, but at this point, maybe literally no one of note wants to sign for that clownshow, so they won't have a choice regardless.

Lakers fans: See! We told you you didn't have any leverage! Should have just taken the deal at the deadline.

I completely agree.
If the Lakers aren't going to say anythign about this dumbass, then they are also letting this perpetuate, and if so, frick them too.
And i don't want Ball or Kuzma, so you tell them i want:

a top 10 pick this year
an allstar caliber player under the age of 25 that you have to run by me for approval first
Ingram, or another all star caliber player under 25.
2020 first, 2022 first, and 2024 first all unprotected.

Don't talk to me again until you can meet those demands.....and go frick yourself.

Rich Paul would still be selling hats at the mall if LeBron hadn't brought him into his circle. Lakers will lose out on AD and any and all major FAs this summer, effectively wasting the end of LeBron's career.

I'm not sure he would have had the money to sell from a mall. He would still be selling out of the back of his car.

I take Ball and Kuzma just to be petty..

Then I trade them for what I really want on my own terms, or the next star that asks out..

I think the next guy will be Booker or Beal
