Tom gave $10m for HOF stadium renovations while he was still alive.
Pretty sure that it was a gift to try and reconcile with NFL after bountygate.

Unfortunately renovations are useless. The SKC is the worst arena in the NBA & needs to be demolished. Look at the newer arenas like the Intuit Dome & Chase Center with Dallas & OKC on deck. Only a brand new state of the art arena will work in today’s arms race of an NBA with free agency. And ownership & the state won’t do it.

No player is deciding what team he joins in free agency b/c of the arena they play in.
These new arenas are being built to attract events outside of basketball, like concerts.
And yes, we desperately need a new arena b/c the SKC is terrible.

Doug Thornton who got the city major events and concerts is moving on. Certainly a sign things might not be roses especially with the City and State fighting.

Why are fans fixated on new arenas. All it will do is make it unaffordable to attend. I absolutely do not care about the arenas and it is about the game. I have not been distracted by the SKC or Superdome itself when attending compared to other sports venues.
