Reggie Miller calling Griffin and Pelicans out.

Basically on twitter said that we are flat out lying and that Zion will miss this season. He bases this on no information at all, just his hunch.
quote:
I’ve BEEN SAYING THIS.. I said this November 21 during the Pelicans vs Suns game, only to be told by David Griffin the President of the Pels at Halftime “No No No, Zion will DEFINITELY be back mid December”, fast forward to December 3rd Mavs vs Pels I double downed and said again

Starting to think its a real possibility.

To be fair, Reggie was acting like he would miss the entire season when all the Pels have admitted to is he might be a few weeks behind schedule. "I said 10, he said 3, it's looking like at least 4-5 so I'm right" isn't how it works.

I don’t care if the Pels are being very very delicate w Zion when we shite THE BUCKET this year already. Why would I feel any different, aren’t we supposed to be making sure he’s in shape and is physically perfect when everyone was saying he was not conditioned etc?

Also I wonder if they are secretly using this time to refine that ugly arse shot before he takes the court again

I've been wondering if they're teaching him how to walk. When I first saw it I thought maybe his draft night suit was too tight, when I found out that's how he walks I wondered if he's got some Greg Oden problems like one leg shorter than the other. Taking the time to teach him to land with both feet and prolonging his career is worth a lost rookie season.

I think Reggie knows more then a hunch No way would he put that out there without being sure

At this point I trust Miller more than Griff. Griffs been wrong about everything

Griff is going to tell you what you want to here. I’m getting to a point where I’m almost over this dude. I hate when someone thinks you are stupid

Until he proves himself to this franchise, hes a used car salesman to me.

Over the dude but he acquired a good trade for AD of which included BI to which I recall you were a bigger fan than most. They hit on their draft picks pretty well from what we can tell.
Posted on 12/11/19 at 8:22 pm to Chad504boy
It was a decent trade but let’s be honest it was probably the only trade. AD and his agent made sure of that

Well he’s already knocked it out of the park at nearly every possible level. This shite takes time.

I like Griff, but a lot of what he has done was basically be a snake oil salesman. He is fantastic at selling a vision, we all bought into it.
If Zion does play I don't really give a shite about anything else. We want to see the franchise out there.

Well I mean, obviously we should expect an entire franchise to be rebuilt from the ground up and not lose a game in the first 6 months..
That's not unrealistic right?

Maybe he's made mistakes as a team spokesman, but outside of Gentry still being here I think he's done what we all wanted him to do as a GM. Griff has taken Mrs. B's open check book and spent it on as much quality staff as he could. We essentially replaced Demps with the top 2 GM candidates on the market and then added Swin Cash, a highly regarded training staff and added a bunch of new assistants, I'm sure Byzdelick wasn't cheap.

I've been saying Griffin cried Wolf as loudly as anyone, but I think you guys are looking at his embellishment as something aimed at you rather than the team. Was the Jrue MVP talk meant to get the fans over excited or part of giving Jrue permission to dominate?
Griff's field of positivity is credited with Cleveland coming back down 3-1 to one of the most dominant teams in NBA history. He certainly had us believing this offseason. That kind of puffery can help manufacture momentum when you actually have both the talent and wisdom/experience/skill to back it up.
Should fans buy season ticket packages based on what David Griffin says? No. But I don't think we want him to shut up either. We as fans just need to learn to filter better.

Sorry, but this is so frickin idiotic. We've been over this shite, but I'll repeat it for those who didn't pay attention last time.
If you have an incredible asset like Zion, and the season has gone downhill and you aren't going to make the playoffs, it makes total sense to take a little longer and get Zion in shape by taking some weight off, and yes, fix some of the biomechanics before you put him out on the court.
Griffin isn't shutting Zion down for the season because:
* Zion needs to develop as a player. That doesn't happen off the court.
* We need to evaluate how other players on this team play with Zion. There will likely be a trade or two this season. Griffin wants to make the team better for next year, and he needs to see how all the pieces fit when Zion is out there.
* Fans would revolt. The team wouldn't sell any season tickets for next year. It would be a huge betrayal of everyone who purchased season tickets this year, and the franchise can't afford that.
* It would be horribly unfair to Zion. Zion didn't get some $100 million in endorsements to do nothing. Sitting him for the season would cost Zion many millions. We want Zion here in New Orleans for the long term. The team isn't going to alienate him by unnecessarily shutting him down.

Chad the trade was fine. Pretty cut & dry.
Not firing Gentry because they are buddies is a red flag,
Calling Jrue mvp candidate is a red flag
This stuff with Zion
Sorry but I’m not stupid buddy
