Just out of curiosity, how many of you were understanding of AD wanting out or at the least neuatral in the AD versus front office for who is more to blame and have now shifted toward the other side of the fence (blaming AD)?

I definitely was on the blaming the FO for the first 5 years and I think that’s somewhat true but I also think they’ve done a decent job the past two seasons of putting good pieces around him (after Finch came on). Now especially in the past 48 hours after that shite presser and the leaks I’m pretty much in the frick AD camp. I appreciate what he’s done for the franchise but going out this way is just garbage.

I think it’s become abundantly clear that the second he signed with LeKlutch, he was gone. His effort this season was pretty suspect (possibly garbage) and I think gave him reason to point at the team and say look how bad we are.

We’ve been trending upward for three years. We hit a road bump this year and he bails. frick him. He can be LeBron’s ho in another year.

I can understand him wanting out. How he’s handled it, though, has been worse than Baron or CP3 did.

Baron basically milked an injury until he was sent out to the Warriors at a time when the Warriors were a butt monkey.

CP3 was two faced in having his reps push the “get me out of here” angle while playing nice to us and in public. I don’t remember him actively tanking potential trades, but I’m probably misremembering.

AD has been the most blatant of any star I can think of where he not only wants out but is actively sabotaging deals which don’t send him to LA. Paul George wanted out to LA but didn’t go on a massive PR campaign about how bad Indiana was when Magic wouldn’t cough up assets to get him instead of signing him as a FA.

I feel like he had it in his head for a while that this was gona go down this way. Im not buying he is being manipulated by klutch. He's his own man and can make his own choices.

Im still of the opinion that im not mad at him for leaving. We messed up big time. I just hate how he and his crew are going about this. Im kind of mad at everyone right now lol

I am. AD is weak mentally. He has a beta personality, it’s why he thrived with Rondo and Evil Jrue, and struggled when he has to be the leader.

so one way to read last year:

they got hot for 30 games after Cousins went down. they got the best possible matchup in the playoffs for them in a western conference that was pretty even and all about matchups after the top 2 seeds.

they have no one on the roster who can defend effectively other than Holiday and Davis. put it this way, when your season is dependent on the health of Elfrid Payton, you have done a bad job at building a roster around your superstar.

i do think Davis has let this get out of hand, but i don't blame him for letting the team know he isn't extending and would like to be traded

42 has a good article on BSS about this today

Davis could have said:
I’m not signing the extension
I’m not picking up the PO
When it’s time I’m going to look elsewhere
knowing that if you want to trade me now I understand

that’s not what happened

I have zero issues with how AD has played it so far and actually I really thank him for his timing as he has prevented a buyer trade and we might even get lucky and make a seller trade or two. I don't think that happen s if AD says nothing.

And I know some will never believe it, but I am certain of the fact that this wasn't his plan from the day he signed with Rich Paul, nor was it Rich Paul's plan.

Again, I know most won't believe that because it hurts more to believe that, but it's true

Rich Paul’s only plan w AD in beginning was to get him as a client. The rest of his sleezy shite was to follow. Rich was always going to be Lebron’s puppet director.

This right here is what I've inferred since the Nuggets game.

They were sad that game man, and the B squad plus Jrue almost beat the fricking Nuggets. There was a lot of hope at the end of that game.

Hence why I think ownership should just listen and become a model for a new archetype of NBA franchise that empowers the players more.

You can say that it's crazy but it's also undoubtedly creative and plausible. Because at this point you have to convince Rich Paul enough to divert Klutch's plan from the Lakers.

Legacy over Money. You have to build the change around what AD said.

Give them an offer that lets our Birmingham G League Team be a development ground for Klutch's scouting program. Klutch can't turn their back on something like that. Getting a G League spot that can be a giant development space for NBA business and talent perspectives for Rich Paul's sports group is massive. It's in the heart of the deep south, it's also in the place of the birth of the Civil Rights Movement.

Adam Silver couldn't shut that down. It's a real progressive idea that vaults small market franchises upward and letting it happen puts the NBA miles above the NFL.

That's an offer Rich Paul can't refuse. That's an offer LA can't make, and that's a legacy that transcends the game.

Legacy over money.

I don’t have any issue with how AD has handled this. It has helped the Pels retrieve some assets instead of him bailing next year.

I was always weary of the win now mode and trading of draft picks by the front office. I’m lukewarm on the front office. They made moves, but we have been snakebit in many ways. EG’s injury and attitude, Reke not working out and, Asík & Cousins getting injured. Jrue and Mirotic have been about the only moves that have worked out. We’ve made moves to get talent, but they haven’t worked out. The hiring of Gentry... SMH

Now that being said, Davis is a great great great player. But he’s not a leader/winner. He’s often injured himself, but he’s the anti Westbrook. No desire or passion on his part to help this team win. That hasn’t changed since he’s been here.

i think back to me at 25, and i think he's just a naive kid getting used. as long as he goes to the knicks or celtics, i'll follow him and wish him well. the franchise could have done more to keep him, but he's giving up because that tiny little prick rich paul is sitting in his ear feeding him lines that serve lebrons interest.

tldr: i'll always love AD

Crewz, what i just posted is one hell of an idea and I would love to get your feedback. Becuase that could be some real legacy over money shite.

If Rich Paul wants to tamper then that's the way he should.

Make that offer, if they don't take it seriously then leak their response and make them define what legacy over money means.

Small people see only their paths, decisions, and desires and get angry.

Its cool. I take no offense to people like you. I just feel bad that others have hurt you so bad. Have a great weekend!

I'll always like AD as a person. He didn't bash anyone while we sucked, he didn't come out and demand things like other stars have done. MY problem all along was that AD never was a leader. If he was we wouldn't be where we are right now. If he were a leader he and Jrue alone could have gotten this team to the second round of the playoffs. If he was a leader he would have taken Jrue, Boogie and Rondo a lot further than where we went. AD liked sitting in the backseat and letting others drive. When Rondo and Boogie left he realized he couldn't take his spot in the back with this franchise any longer, so he dumped his agent and signed with an agent that would get him to a team where he wouldn't have to be the leader. Instead of being honest with everyone, AD half-assed this season. He didn't try, he sat out for the sniffles and just let us lose to make him less of an arse when his team pulled the trigger on the trade request. But I think most of what has happened this week is far above his head. I doubt he likes the way this has all gone because I think he respects most of the people in this organization. But he made bad decisions in the summer and this is what its led to
