This will be a fun thread

But I have no problem with this. The 53rd pick is sort of useless, and cash considerations for 2nds is common for all teams, it helps GMs get the leverage they need with owners to make money eating deals.

That's crazy, the main Pels twitter tweeted this 1 minute after Shams broke it. They never are that quick with news.

All those working out second rounders for nothing. How much money do we need to save? I guess that’s what happen when you keep changing head coaches

We have 3 other second round picks.

How many players drafted after 50 have ever worked out?

I have a secret to share. Either 51 or 43 probably get traded for a future 2nd at some point.

And 2 of them are likely packaged either for a veteran or to move up into the earlier 2nd or very late 1st.

So we traded our latest second rounder for cash and still have 3 left? Yeah nothing to see here

I could see 35 and 51 moved for Ingles+30. Jazz get some cap relief, slide back a few spots and don’t have worry about guaranteeing another contract.

There is literally no reason to have more than one second round pick in any draft, ever. 99% chance that whoever you pick will never make it past your G-League team or play any meaningful minutes in the NBA. I am all for selling, trading for future picks, and bundling for better picks / players.

I personally see Ingles as having positive value, even if the Jazz kind of need to get off of money. Someone will give a positive asset for him I would think.

With the dawn of 2 Way Contracts and Exhibit 10 contracts, and all teams having GLeague teams, I could see using more than one 2nd.

But it also isn't a big deal if you don't.

tbh, cash considerations' 3 pt % is not much worse than Dinwiddie's.
