Graham should never play.
but he does.. because the bench isn’t as good as some think it is. We also need big man depth. Billy isn’t reliable enough. Jax isn’t reliable enough.

And I’m not saying our bench is bad or even average but there’s definite flaws or skill sets that’s were missing there

Um, we can upgrade our bench by getting 3 starters back...

Sure, but the 2nd unit will still be void of shooters/spacing even when they come back.

outscored 35-22 in the 4th when they lost their best player

but all those free throws the Cavs got to start the 4th just started the snowball

I wish we wouldn't spot teams a 9-2 lead but man that fourth quarter was even worse. Refs were all over the place too, but that doesn't excuse wild passes and poor decisions.

We got killed on the boards again. We tend to lose games when we get dominated like that.

Mobley is who they hoped Jax would be after some development and he just isn’t that guy. Was particularly terrible today.

Pels out shot them, but the Cavs just smoked the Pels on the offensive glass and that was the real difference in the game. Willy tried to play Trey, Dyson, and Naji and cover the 4, but it was a mismatch inside all game long as they gave up boards and fouls.

We've had a spacing issue all season long and it's made shite harder on Zion because we don't have enough shooters.

I don't understand how people think that doesn't need to be addressed even with a fully healthy roster.

Exactly, we have a bench that is ready for a rock fight on the perimeter which definitely has won us some games this season, but we also have a bench that has no real shooter... and I'm including Trey in that until he gets his shite together. But even if I grant you Trey, having one guy that can knock down a 3 off the bench is not ideal.

He wouldnt be playing with BI, Herb and Zion healthy. The bench is fine, most of our starters today are our bench

When we're healthy, the goal is to be able to stagger minutes so one of BI, CJ and Zion are on the floor at all times.

So yes, there has been and will be scenarios where Graham is on the floor with one of them.

Zion would be unstoppable against a 2nd unit if he was on the floor with 2 wings that the other team would have to worry about.

I mean, shite Zion is almost unstoppable now even when he's on the floor and facing a 3-man wall in the paint because the other team isn't worried about guarding the perimeter.

Shouldn't the goal be to create as much space for Zion as we can? You do that by surrounding him with shooters.

Zion isn’t gonna last long when he has to work so hard to get points for us while being marked by at least 3 guys all the time. We need more shooting threats off the bench to help give him more space. shite at least one actual good shooter. Not asking for a lot or an entire bench depth rebuild.

Pels literally don’t have a backup 4 outside of Jax (Larry can maybe play some when healthy, and I still love Billy but he is 100% a center only)…it’s a huge hole in the roster, along with a lack of quality shooting.

Pity we let Wenyen Gabriel go, could’ve had him for the league minimum and he would’ve been a great bench stash that was shooting over 40% from 3pt for us and is again for the Lakers now while doing literally everything else better than Jax.

But we keep coming back to this same thing over and over about Graham and Jax….they both make too much money for their level of play. Pels still need a bench gunner and a legit stretch 4.

We could use 1 more shooter but Zion has also not played much with CJ and BI.

He'll start and finish with them obviously, but there will be stretches between that when he's on the floor with neither of them.

I would love to get Doug McDermott but we would have to give up a 1st to get him.

I'd give up the Bucks 1st if the Spurs are stupid enough to take a glorified 2nd round pick.

I agree. Team needs another shooter and a backup defensive big.

Mcdermott is the guy I wish they'd go after. He's a movement shooter, unlike Trey, and would do a ton to open up the offense. He'd also be cheap to get.

For the playoffs, we HAVE to find a legit defensive backup at C. Teams are going to eat JV alive in the pick and roll/switches and Larry's just too small for a lot of matchups.

Bogdanovic and OG are shinier objects, but those guys will cost way more and don't solve the JV/rim protection situation that I think will be our biggest issue come playoff time.

Its like people already forgot how we made Ayton and Javale Mcgee look Kareem and Wilt last playoffs.
