The Knicks, Blazers, Kings and Pelicans are among the teams trying to acquire picks in this year's draft, according to league sources.
Kennedy is one of the better NBA guys so this has some legs

43rd pick for a 2017 2nd round pick

A lot of 2nd rounds picks for sale considering half of them belong to 3 teams

I wonder if Philly is willing to trade back that #10 overall...

Gordon for the 10th pick would bring the lulz

Gordon for anything of value would bring the lulz.

From Matt Moore on the Spears tweet
Giving up another future pick is dicey. For a guy like Holiday, it's fine. For any of these guys, it's a little ridiculous.

The issue here is that the Pelicans are short on assets they can move that aren't considerable. There are definitely teams trying to move their picks, with teams as high as the No. 8 Kings open to the possibility, but the Pelicans' roster is top heavy. If they're willing to part with Eric Gordon, even on that sizeable contract, and another future first, they might be able to move into the teens and acquire someone like Gary Harris, Jusuf Nurkic, K.J. McDaniel, or C.J. Wilcox.

Their pursuit of a center is additionally interesting considering they elected last year to trade Robin Lopez to make room to sign Tyreke Evans, and played Anthony Davis at five a considerable amount. Davis is better at power forward, but this seems an awful lot like trying to undo mistakes that were made last year in trade

I've already figured it would cost the 2015 1st to move Gordon. If we could do Gordon + 2015 1st for a 2014 1st without taking back a bad contract, that's a good move in my book.

I agree, I don't see the downside in trading a future first for one we can use this summer, regardless of moving Gordon. Add that to the equation and it's a win.

Whoever thinks otherwise is a lunatic.
Moving EG without taking on terrible contracts? Getting a Top 10 pick and salary room??
Sign me the frick up.

Of course

That's a massive caveat. What team will take on $30M of an oft injured player and a future pick that will likely be lower than the one they give up without sending out some detritus?
It is remarkable how excited people are to get back into the draft after hearing how shitty a late lottery pick would be for months.

Right now what we mostly have to focus on is what we get, not what it costs. If we're talking Pierre Jackson for a pick in the late 20s, that's good value to turn a 2nd rounder last year into a 1st this year. If we're talking top 3 protected 2015 for a 2014 1st rounder in the late 20s, that's pretty bad value. Gordon and pick for pick is great. Gordon and pick for Gerald Wallace and pick is terrible.

giving up next year's 1 and moving Gordon for a pick in the teens? MAKE IT HAPPEN LEWMIZ!
We dump sandy, and add a cheap piece. We free up a ton of cap to address the 3 and or 5.
