No they are unlikely to trade their 2015 pick but they can acquire a 2014/2015 pick tomorrow night if need be.

They will go into tomorrow night's draft with their 2015 pick as their only pick until July 10th when the Asik deal is finalized.

See this is the confusion:

Pick to HOU has Lowry-style reverse protections, per source. NOP keeps if in top 2/3 of lottery, and if it's 20-plus. In b/w, goes to HOU

Lowe means the top 2/3rds of the lottery. Not picks 1-3. Clutch Fans and ESPN may be running with a misinterpretation. I'll wait and see.

Asik had second best rebound rate in NBA last season.

Near the top every year. He is a better rebounds and defender than Jordan. And he doesn't have to come out of games late In the 4th.

And considering we have his bird rights and the playing time he desperately wants.

Believing clutchfans sources is like believing McNamera sources.

I still remember a game (I think against the Thunder) where they were playing hack-Asik late in the game and he went on to make like 10 out of 11 FTs in the 4th.

I hope you are right with this interpretation. Top 3 protection is pretty weak. Top 2/3 would be 10 or so and would obviously be a lot better...

Jordan led the league in rebounds last year and was 2nd in blocks.

Huh? They are both atrocious free throw shooters.

I will say this, I'm happy to get Asik, but 4-19 would be pretty bad on Dell's part.

Yes. Can now confirm protection. Will be between 4 and 20. RT @jelvig1: @Jonathan_Feigen Hearing the pick is slotted for #4-19. Confirm?

We aren't going to be nearly that high of a pick with the team we have now. We stacked, son.

4-18.5 would definitely be better.

Yep. Last year in the first round.

I remember that night vividly.

I was watching the game with a friend who was quite drunk and for some reason developed a game time love affair with Asik and would go nuts whenever he touched the ball all game. He wasn't a rockets fan. I think he just bet on the Rockets and Asik started decently so he jumped on the bandwagon hard for that game
