at a minimum...
any minutes that wes plays will come from:

1) moore's minutes at SF/3rd guard, freeing him to play the 2
2) miller's minutes at 3rd guard, freeing him to play the 2
3) solo's minutes at SF

all three are better scenarios for the pels's rotation

Johnson makes almost $1m more than Ajinca, so it gives us more flexibility once he's able to be traded.

This is because the Pels acquired Johnson by himself in today's trade. No immediate plans for that, but something to watch down the line.

trading worthless trash for trash that can play for us.

Best way to put it. Maybe his $6.1 mil comes in handy as opposed to Ajinca's $5.2 mil, but that will likely be the only help that we get from him.

Completely a move to get a guy that can play 5 minutes a game at a desperate position of need as opposed to a guy that can play Zero Minutes a game at a position we have no need at.

Let's be real: Wes Johnson sucks. But he's much more useful than Alexis Ajinca.

As @BobbyMarks42 says, there's no deal unless the transaction is completed with league office in time for the Clippers to waive Ajinca before the 5 PM ET deadline.

Brought him in just in time to guard James Harden opening night. What could go wrong?

Yes. Two minuses equal a plus.

something is better than nothing, that's about all there is to say about that trade. so yah.

Wish we could have sent them Diallo and gotten back Beverly too.

Very, very interesting. Wonder if this is the sort of thing that could make a trade with the Hawks slightly easier.

well that is nice that he can be traded immediately even if it's combined with other players.
Makes sense now that there wasn't anyone else involved in the trade, if that's why that is happening.

Hill/Diallo/Johnson works for Bazemore/Dedmon I think. Didn't work before with Ajinca/Hill/Diallo. would have needed to add another $1.2M or something like that.

Didn't Harden completely embarrass Johnson last year with that crossover?

Yeah, again, we should reiterate to people that Wes Johnson does suck.

He just sucks less than Ajinca and is a more useful (relatively speaking) player for us, for sure.

I don't think he gets dealt right away but something to look at early in the season if another team gets off to a terrible start wants to jettison someone.

I'd hold on to Johnson for awhile and see what's out there unless Hill just sucks out the gate and then you make a move.
