okay fair. Glass half full approach. You’re right. Again tho we’ll see how long that lasts
On draft night, I texted my buddies on a group chat that the trade was "GM malpractice." Since then, I have softened my stance and I will choose to let it play out. I believe Zach Lowe called it "process-based recklessness." I don't think anyone would disagree with that.
If Dumars trades Zion for anything of value, then I will be first in line to kiss his arse.

I can see Zion/Queen fitting together. They literally can break down a defense just like Zion/JV. Poole is a great fit with them because he can PnR and shoot 3s.
However I don’t see how Kuminga can fit with this roster. Herb fits here way more,

One thing we are all missing:
Maybe Dumars really is an out of touch idiot that doesn't know what he is doing

Honestly, it's about time they stop building around Zion. I'm fine with them bringing in talent. I am tired of relying on a team full of one dimensional players if he can't stay healthy.
It's really Zion that needs to prove that he can stay healthy. If not, there'll be enough talent to move on to greener pastures.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Could be a S&T involved here since 90% of transactions these days are S&Ts

I just wonder about the fit with Kuminga.
Yeah, I don't understand a Herb for Kuminga trade at all. At all. If Dumars wants to change the culture, how does it help to trade the hardest working player on the team?

We either need to keep building around Zion and betting on his health, or we need to do a full rebuild without him. It doesn't appear that we are doing either.

Well based off the draft picks and if we bring in Kuminga, it really feels like we’re building the roster with the idea of not having Zion on it within the next year
Posted on 6/30/25 at 3:32 pm to Macintosh
Except we gave up next year's pick.
So you have to make that decision like right the frick now (should have been made before the draft) so you can get compensation and be good day 1

Disagree. They need to rehabilitate his value and let him prove that he's worth keeping. It's an evaluation year for him. This is as good of a headstart to a soft rebuild and it can be extended to a a quick full rebuild if he ends up getting traded.
Building around him is asinine at this point.

This would be correct and probably the right path to take. BUT to add Kuminga after getting Queen with Z on the roster still and only 1 center...
Are we about to trade Zion?

Don’t know why we would be linked to him don’t need him

was just coming to post that.

I sure do hope Anthony knows what he’s talking about
Posted on 6/30/25 at 3:48 pm to Macintosh
would zion be able to be transported across the golden gate bridge?
Posted on 6/30/25 at 3:49 pm to Macintosh
please god let the league save dumars from himself
herb for kuminga makes no fkn sense
roster will have zero spacing and zero defense

You see "we gave up next years pick" and I see "we picked next years pick a year early".
Drafting Queen and trading a 1st to do it makes more sense as to trading Zion, not less...
Now we can actually focus on the best return package for Zion instead of blindly taking a "good offer" because we have specific young assets to pair other assets with.
Instead of taking a Kuminga or whatever player teams offer, we can now say "hey we already have a future PG, SF, and PF lets trade Z for a young C/ SG or target a specific player"
