I wouldn't worry about a tiny sample size in Summer League. Seabron played the whole Summer League and never showed his primary skill, getting to the basket at will. I was wondering if that meant it didn't translate to the next level, but he eventually hit his stride in Birmingham and got back to looking like you'd expect.

I am too. He looks like he has the skill set to do what we need on the center committee, the question is will what he's shown in Europe translate, and if so how quickly?

That’s not good because Matkovic kinda sucks…throwback big without elite size or athleticism…at best an end of roster guy.

My hope is EJ’s athleticism from college and the NBA combine is going to show up if his is finally healthy, but he doesn’t have very good length, so he needs to be a plus athlete.

Looks like the possibility of combining JV+Temple for a rim protector is the potential move.

$21M for a rim protector? Can this $20M rim protector play in the playoffs, b/c i'm not paying a regular season guy $20M and then we have Nance playing the 5 for the majority of the playoffs.

I honestly don't care if a guy has an offensive game. If he can catch the ball and finish at the rim, hustle his arse off on the offensive boards, then that's enough offense for me. What's more important is he is capable of playing elite PnR defense in the playoffs and can actually protect the rim.

I don't know why there's so much talk about Mitchell Robinson getting traded from the Knicks, but that's who i would want to replace JV.
Robinson finished in the top 15 in the league in WS/48. he was 8th the previous year. He was 2nd in block % behind only JJJ. Led the NBA in offensive rebounding%.
He makes $15M/yr for the next 3 years.
We can do a straight swap with JV and Robinson strictly speaking about salary matching.
Now the Knicks aren't interested in a trade like that. They are looking to make a big FA signing or S&T for a premier player, and if they have to give up Robinson to do so, then so be it. They have a little bit of salary cap to absorb some salary, but if they do a S&T then they have to send out what they get back.

If we wanted Robinson, we'd probably need a 4th team, the Spurs, to take JV and send us Collins. We get Robinson, and then a 3rd team that has a player that the Knicks want sends them that guy. Thinking something like the Raptors and OG. Maybe the Bulls and DeRozan. Hawks with Hunter.

I'm not sure how you could possibly know this.

He's really young, and just showed a pretty big leap in Euro ball.

All of this is wrong.

Karlo is a great athlete, that's like his whole thing. He's very bouncy and moves his feet well on the perimeter

EJ measured 6'7 in shoes with a 7ft wingspan at the combine. Thats plenty of length

Yeah I mean...

karlo appears to be a MUCH better athlete than EJ Liddell.

What is this guy talking about?

We should both of them in action very soon. Really curious to see what our summer league roster ends up looking like.

I'm high on karlo.

I think ej makes the roster too. The pels org seems to be very high on him.

He obviously doesn't look like college ej just yet.

I think, so far, it's Dyson, Hawkins, Liddell, Karlo, Brockington, Nolley, Seabron, and Hepa

Robbins will be around team but can't play until August.

Tevian Jones as well. Lots of spacing with this group.

You could have just said "all i know about him is he's white and European, and i just assume he has no athleticism b/c i've never seen a highlight of him play"

So tell me you don't know who Matkovic is without saying you don't know who he is.

If the Spurs somehow would value Temple as a veteran leader for their young guys, a deal like Temple + Willy for Collins would work. He could be a nice backup big. Would be nice to not have thrown away all of our 2nds at this point as they may want something else. Cash?

Don't think they'll give up Collins while Wemby is still a rookie. They're going to want a reliable veteran big.

Yeah, Karlo may not ever be an NBA player, and he may not be a lot of things, but one thing he certainly IS is an insane athlete. Dude is bouncy as hell.

He's a good Athlete but I wouldn't describe him as insane. The same goes for Liddell. Good Athlete but nothing I'd call special or insane.

Here are the top 3 vertical leaps at this year's NBA combine:

1. Julian Phillips 43.00
2. Mojave King 42.00
3. Cam Whitmore 40.50

Karlo's was 41...in 2018, when he was 17 years old.

He's a very good athlete.

So you're using unofficial numbers as your claim? EJ logged a legit 38 inch vertical the combine and I'm not sitting here calling him an insane athlete.

Trey also logged a 38 inch vertical and I bet he's way more bouncy than Matkovic. But whatever.

I've compared him to a less athletic Hayes because in the highlights they do a lot of the same things, from alley oops and dribble drives on offense to blocks and switching on to guards on defense. The main difference is Matkovic doesn't fly quite as high. There probably are better comps, but from a Pels fan perspective he looks like if you took Jaxson and shifted points from athleticism to BBIQ, which is kind of what we need.

Hayes logged a 34.5 inch vertical at the combine and you know he's one of the most athletic guys on the team by far.

Insane athletes are reserved for guys like Lavine, Morant, Spida, Aaron Gordon, Prime Paul George, Giannis, Prime Blake Griffin, and the Gerald Greens of the worlds...

Matkovic looks to be a good athlete and it's not even a slight. People are quick to use words like insane. Christian Braun is a good athlete and that's probably similar to what I see for Matkovic.
