The Ringer's young core rankings

1. Memphis
2. Cleveland
3. Dallas (all Luka)
4. Orlando (seems like a reach until Banchero proves it)
5. New Orleans

Yeah that’s a weird list. Dallas has Hardy (20) and Doncic (23). Shouldn’t really be on the “young core” list.

1. Memphis/ Cleveland/ Pels
4. Magic/ Pistons/ OKC
7. Everyone else

Pels don’t get credit for BI in this ranking because he’s now 25, with him included we’d be top 1 or 2

I'm with you but he did make a good point. What trio of young talent could any team offer you that would get you Luka in a trade? As nice as Cleveland, Orlando, Detroit, and OKC look, would you trade their top 3 U25 guys for Luka? I wouldn't.

doncic is the best young player in the world. Any team with him on it has the best young core

nobody in his age group has the skins on the wall that he does

I agree with you Doncic is a savage. But 1 person isn’t a core. And a team that isn’t even ranked in the top 15/30 youngest teams/ average team age shouldn’t be considered in the “young core rankings”.

Trading their top 3 U25 guys for Luka isn’t a fair argument considering some of those team have 4,5,6, etccc guys U25 that will play a lot of minutes. Would those teams trade an entire young core for 1 player? It’s possible but some of those teams would be hesitant. That’s my argument it’s 1 guy vs entire teams. Not just “3 U25 players”. And I honestly don’t think Dallas is that great of a team outside of Doncic and have no other young players. Definitely not a young core.

Trey Murphy about to make this look dumb. I have to believe if the author had the same hopes for TM3 this year that we do, we’d be at least #4 ahead of Orlando. I get Ingram isn’t on this list and all, but it’s still kind of a joke to have them ahead of us.

Zion also has the ability to make us a clear cut #1.

2 days folks!

Depends on if Ingram is in thr young equation

If so then

1. Pels/Cavs tied
3. Grizzlies
4. Magic
5. Thunder

neutral observers need to see it on the court.
Cleveland and memphis fans are similarly hopeful their young guys show up.
it will be fun to do this again at all star break.
some of these guys will do it on the court.
an example. Santiago Aldama of Memphis. 6 11, euro u19 champ. hit 3s like a boss in SL. was already solid in paint.
but he looked wide open on those 3s. in a real game Ingram or Draymond will have him, not some poor soul who lost track of his man.

You're also leaving out their best one in Jalen Green. Houston is gonna be good in the next few years. Theyll suck this year, add another top 5 pick and then try to start winning i would imagine

I'd take the Pistons youth over those two.

Yeah I forgot to add them. They are defining that 7 spot.

Simmons won’t be saying that shite next year. Most likely low because he’s bullish on Zion, which just proves he’s a complete hack

I sort of agree with Dallas being up there. Luka is a top 5 player at 23. He's the single most valuable asset in the league(I think ahead of giannis due to age).

Terrible take. Not to mention Simmons didn’t even write the article.
