The issue is way more complex then what you are presenting.
We have multiple years of data to show this.

I am with Shel. I don't understand this BI is the alpha of the team nonsense. He has been on our team for four years. Our greatest moment (other than the 30 games Zion had us in first without BI) was losing twice as many games as we won in a first round series.
I really like BI. He is a very good player. He isn't impacting winning at a high level as the alpha though. He CAN be the #2 on a championship level team though. If we are going to be successful like we all want, it has to come with Zion as the alpha and BI as his running mate. We haven't gotten to see them together much yet but I am still optimistic. It really isn't a knock on BI. It just is what it is.

Shel, It doesn’t even matter, they both play for the Pels. I know your pretty astute, but you sound like a talking head sometimes ….. Who’s 1A … no, hes’s no 1B he’s a 2 … lol. Basketball is a team game for sure

Yep. Missing so much context just throwing records out there. Who is the guy who has shown up and played. Dominated the playoffs.
I want neither player traded for Dame or anyone for that matter, but Brandon Ingram in mocks is a hell of a lot stupider than Zion ones. Just my 2 cents.

I feel like the Ingram can’t be a #1 argument isn’t valid if we have Dame on the team bc Ingram will definitely be the #2 in that circumstance.
So would we rather have Zion be 1B to Dame for 29 games a season (avg games played) or Ingram be a strong #2 to Dame for 55 games a year?
I’d probably lean Ingram just bc I trust his health a lot more than Zion and I think his injuries might be more fixable due to his body type and less physical playstyle.

Dame is going to be a #1 for what, 2 more years? Dame hasn't been playing 82 games a year either. You always let talent win. You don't trade a guy like Zion when he is 22 years old. I just don't get it.

Well for starters in previous seasons the roster looked completely different. Not to mention a bit of playoff experience for the rooks last year helped a ton.

The New Orleans Pelicans have a 57-57 record all time with Zion Williamson healthy..
Mediocre?

You are correct. This argument is so stupid.
The only reason that we would even talk to Portland is that Zion and Dame are close to an ideal pairing, as they ideally space the court for each other. Dame's range is perfect to match with Zion's interior gravity. Teams absolutely could not "build a wall" to try to stop Zion, as that would mean an open 3 from Dame. And teams couldn't double Dame without an easy Zion dunk or layup.
The idea of trading Zion for Dame is imbecilic.

Not claiming it hurt or helped anyone. I am claiming it’s unfair to use a team record as a comparison. Figured my sarcastic eye roll proving your own point against you would be enough to point that out. Using team record as a player metric is retarded.

Also odd that the most important stat for a team somehow doesn't matter only in this specific instance.

I didn't realize we're pretending your best player doesn't impact winning.
Feel free to clarify that context you keep pointing out. Kinda feels like it's just a thing you said but can't back up, otherwise I you would have done so by now.

Bottom line...on BI...I'm hoping Borrego can make a difference in his future developement. Important year coming up...for BI.

FYI, what you remember as a playoff push was a 15-17 record from the time BI returned from injury.
That's mediocrity.
Great now name all of the players that were healthy when Zion was playing, and all the players that were playing through serious injuries or were out when BI came back.
Everyone wants to ignore all of the other injuries we had. They fricking happened.
