According to ESPN — Pelicans currently 5th in league in PPG at 118.5 We also make the most FGs per game out of top 5 scoring teams.

Pelicans currently 2nd in league in FG% at 48.9%.

They are also 2nd in league in 3pt% at 40.0%

The only stat that bothered me is Free throws attempted per game. We are 25th out of all 30 teams in Free throws attempted at 22.0 a game.

I would think this could be bc of jump shooting on perimeter but we are 28th in 3PT attempts.

I’m really happy with how this team is playing but I feel like with how much we attack basket we should be getting more FTs.

Oh well, as a Pelicans fan I’m super happy regardless and proud of the team!

Geaux Pelicans!

ETA: 118.5 PPG instead of 188.5 PPG

#1 - the Dallas Mavericks

And Luka will STILL complain about the "non-calls".

What bothers me is that Zion is number 46th in the league in FTAs. 46th!

And 4th in the league in attempts per game from 0-3 feet out.

- POR is 1st in shots 0-3 feet out, 3rd in FTA per game

- DAL is 2nd in shots 0-3 feet out, 1st in FTA per game

But...

- MIN is 3rd in shots 0-3 feet out, 22nd in FTA per game

Zion takes 18.5 FGA per game.
To 4.5 FTA per game

To explain the ridiculousness of that:
Luka takes 11.5 (17 FGA per game not a 3)
Giannis takes 12.4 (18 FGA per game not a 3)

Steph fricking Curry takes 6.3 per game (21.6 FG, 12.3 3pt)

CJ is also at 19.3 FGA to only 2.5 FTA

This is really the first year since the 90's I have watched non Pelicans games and it doesn't seem so one sided when other teams play. Sure there are still the all star and superstar calls but I don't see guys catching fouls like Herb who is doing what EVERY OTHER defender does but he someone gets called for brushing a hip or some shite. Nobody is getting banged around as much as Zion and they call touch fouls for other stars shooting layups. I don't see how they can be so blatantly bad, his first 2 seasons he got way more calls.

This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to throw a brick at the tv while watching a Mavs game. My god I can't stand that dude. The flopping, whining and complaining gets so old. Dude, shut up, you are getting the calls, you're not going to get one every single shot.

You guys bitch and moan about this all the time and then complain about our guys not getting calls. There's a reason so many star players complain. It's because it works and these guys will do whatever it takes to win, even act like little bitches.

I'm sure many here remember how Jokic changed the outcome of a game we lost in OT to them last season. With 3 seconds left down 2 he missed a shot. He whined about a no call so much that they gave it to him and it changed what should have been a win for the Pels in regulation to a loss in OT. Not only did Jokic not deserve the call, he should have gotten a technical foul for trying to intimidate the officials like he did. But he didn't, instead he got the W, because that's the way the game is played.

Remember that the next time you're "glad" that our guys don't try to get calls.

They complain because they are entitled. Luka does not want to win more than a guy like Jrue or B.I. Jrue just doesn't bitch and it's much more enjoyable to watch. You will never hear me say that I wish our guys act like whiny bitches, ever.

Yes I remember that game well, I was furious at the refs. But no, that is not how the game is played. That's how Jokic and a number of other guys play. I never said that it did not help them, I'm speaking about enjoying watching the game of basketball instead of watching a bunch of pussies complaining that they didn't get more calls. I'm not going to root for a guy that plays that way. I mean Lukas own coach told him he needed to chill it was so bad. Zion is never going to get the calls he deserves, Shaq didn't either, I can live with that. But just because someone doesn't throw a fit over not getting a call doesn't mean they don't want to win more, that's bs.

Luka is just a young Slovenian James Harden, he already gains weight in the offseason like him.

I don’t think there’s any big conspiracy, but our guys get hacked like crazy driving to the rim with no calls. I’m glad Zion has been more vocal with the refs about it because they murder him almost every time he goes up.

The NBA and refs should be ashamed of themselves.

I know he is not popular but Jax gets hacked a lot with no call. It is more evident in person than on TV. He is athletic enough to still make buckets though. I just wish his game could catch up to his ability.

Def agree—part of the art of basketball is selling the call and being a bit theatrical. While I appreciate our guys being stand up and would never want them to be full out floppers, if we want to be one of the better teams we have to get to the line and in order to do that you have to sell it.

DWade is one of the first guys that comes to mind that sold his calls well without overtly flopping.

He did chill. He’s had literally 2 technicals since that happened. One he got legitimately tackled at halfcourt at the end of a quarter (technical was actually rescinded by the league since it was absurd) and the other was in the playoffs when Jae Crowder threw him on the ground when he was attempting a layup (dirty play).

Yet, you and others are still complaining about Luka like it’s your birthright lol.

Luka is a damn fun player and he’s clearly fixed the technical issue.

I get the Jokic hate after seeing that debacle last year. But I don’t quite understand the Luka hate to be completely honest, especially since he did tighten up his act quite a bit last season.
