He pulls our team together for that stretch run.

Does he have some proven track record of doing this or something?

How are you matching his $30mil?

Najic Johnson don’t make $30mil?

From Sam Amick in The Athletic:

However, according to a Pelicans source, those talks were never seen as serious from their side. New Orleans believes it was largely used as leverage (that didn’t work) against the Lakers.

So, the Hawks were leaking about Herb Jones in an attempt to get Pelinka to give up Austin Reaves.

Makes perfect sense. Herb and Reaves are similar caliber players, have similar contracts, etc.

I'm almost positive the Pels and Hawks did talk but the Pels were always more interested in Okongwu than Murray

I’d bet my arse we didn’t put Herb on the table.

If Pels put Herb on the table, I honestly believe deal would be done. This was all Atlanta. By the way their fan base is pissed that they didn’t unload anyone and now rumors coming out they’ll trade Trae in the summer. By the way interesting tidbit- their GM is Landry Fields- he was a player who was friends and played with Jeremy Lin during the Linsanity era.

Reading a few of the other threads, it seems like a few opinions on Murray have changed now that he is a Pelican.

the issue was always trading BI for Murray. Felt too much like a lateral move and wouldn’t actually put us a tier higher than what we already were.

Was it though?

I'd be shocked if they are seriously considering it. It would be a sudden shift in the type of players they're willing to bring into the locker room.

quote:

Yeah Murray is mad weird. He’s randomly hostile. Bi Polar type ish.

quote:

Weird fit for sure. Not sure I’d be on board with this.

quote:

Murray gives you 90% of bi? Damn the bi hate is getting out of hand.

quote:

What does Murray give us that we don’t already have? I’m trying to figure out where he’d fit in.

quote:

I really hope we don’t get Murray. He really isn’t even that special . Hawks have been worse since attaining him , he has a lot of empty stats , and his inconsistent . He would create an even bigger headache with the current jam for minutes at the guard spot , and he doesn’t cover any needs … and we will probably have to give up a young prospect for him , Dyson / hawk … not worth it

quote:

It’s JV/Dyson for Murray/Okongwu and I don’t even know what the point of that trade really is.
You gonna bring Murray off the bench?

quote:

I'm not interested in Murray to be honest. He simply doesn't fit with our current starters of CJ/BI/Herb/Zion

quote:

Murray further compounds our issues

My suspicion is that the Pels are more interested in Okongwu than Murray

There's plenty more.

I really like Dejounte Murray for this team. I just find it interesting how many of the same people who are saying we fleeced Atlanta didn't even want him on the team 4 months ago.

Fine. 50% of the scoring and 130% of the playmaking and call it a day.

Ball handling skills and a 3 pt shot

When I think Dyson Daniels, I certainly don' think "special"

Who really does fit with BI?

Because he's a true guard that plays offfense?

Hindsight is 20/20, but I'm excited to see him surrounded by guys that him make better (& vice versa). Trey was not that
