Keep Willie, keep the tank rolling. Trade CJ and BI for whatever assets you can get at the deadline or young prospects with potential. Hopefully we get a top 4 pick and add one of the dynamic players this draft.
Keep the focus on developing Missi and Hawkins. See if Trey can handle a bigger offensive load.
Clean house at the end of the season. Griff and Willie have to go. Get a new gm and a hardline crack the whip coach. None of this I’m your best friend and buddy shite. And we are all one big happy family crap. It’s a business, get in line or get out.
Most disagree, but see if the new coach can crack the whip and get through to Zion. It seems like that’s what he needs. And had his most success under SVG. Or trade for an alpha bully that’ll talk shite and ride his arse 24/7. We don’t have that on our roster right now.
If he can stay healthy like the end of last year and rehab his value, then you ship him off.

Yeah, I don't get the people that want to fire Willie now. We don't need half measures, we need regime change.

I'd bring in a "Front Office Consultant".
I'd make sure he agrees with any trades that Griffin makes. I wouldn't allow him to make anything resembling a win now move. It has to be expiring contracts, young players, swaps, and picks picks picks.
And after the deadline you can Griffin. Willie, I can see the argument for keeping him. But maybe you give Borrego a chance down the stretch

They can fire him after the firesale. Should be done during the break.

crack the whip and get through to Zion

I’d rather just move on at this point honestly. It sucks he was such a bust bc of his health for us but it is what it is…
We need to completely change the culture here.
I’m all for getting rid of anyone not named Herb Jones, Trey Murphy, or Yves Missi. Just like the recent report said.

I love Herb and Missi is exciting, but none of those guys are untouchable. You can't clutch role players heading into a hard rebuild.

This is the problem. We aren’t winning anything with him not in the building. There’s a path to winning with him. There’s no denying his talent.
We either have to reach him or rehab his imagine enough to get another gm to bite on his potential to get real assets back.

I immediately thought of MJ and Kobe.
Could you imagine Zion being the way he is on a team with either of those two legends. Zion would need a safe space.

I think this needs to be done as well, if you aren't firing Griff right now. And he 100% needs to go.
They have to make a trade to get under the tax. It's not going to happen without trading CJ, BI or Zion. I don't want Griff's dumbass being in charge of that. Teams already know we will be desperate to move someone so we aren't getting good value back for anyone we trade.
I know y'all want to keep losing, and WIllie helps that, but I can't agree with keeping him for a minute longer. Nothing positive can come from continueing to lose like we are. Losing on paper makes sense for better chances at the lottery, but i don't like what it does to the development of our players.

He’d be Kwame Brown 2.0

Don't really have to imagine much what Z would be like with a hard-arse like Kobe on the team. You saw that with Kobe and Shaq, who was a huge talent but not intense enough for Kobe. Shaq eventually had to go, albeit after a couple of title runs...

Gayle will sell Pels to owner who will move them to Vegas

Same. Either clean house and start from scratch or keep Willie since he’s at least helping you get a high pick

I don't think it's that easy. It seems like a lot of dominos will fall first. First the Celtics will be sold. Second, the two expansion teams will be started in Vegas and Seattle. Third, the leftover potential buyers will go hard after struggling teams, like New Orleans. Even if purchased by an outside group, NO (and Louisiana), would have a year or two to put together a package to entice the team to stay. They will need a good new arena in an attractive up and coming area. Plus a ton of other incentives.
I just don't believe that cities have birthright to teams. NO has to keep up with other cities, that are hungry for a franchise. We will be competing with places like Vancouver, Mexico City, and St Louis. I don't think those have a massive advantage over the Gulf Coast (which should be the Pelicans Market). I just can't buy into the boom/bust theory. There is way forward..

I don't know why you are laughing. It's a top 5 finalist for an expansion team. It has a ton of upside for the league. Plus a franchise there owns the country market wise, plus ties the league in huge to Latin America. Only drawback is player security. But it's close to happening now.
As an aside. Has anyone really looked at our organizational structure and how bloated it is (LINK )? An efficiency expert would have field day cutting people loose. We literally have more coaches than players. We have more people in the trainer/medical team than players as well. All those people in marketing and production, with no tv deal? It's crazy..

I just read an article about the NBA and Mexico City (LINK /). I think I agree with you now and see why you were laughing.
I didn't realize the altitude and pollution were such a big thing. They would also need a new arena, due to traffic and being in an undesirable location. Seems like a lot of obstacles. Lots of money though..
