Wow, you must be the most close-minded fool on this board, and I've seen a lot of close-minded fools on here.
actually, TigerinATL is one of the best/most intelligent posters on here...dude knows his shite, so maybe you should slow your roll, bruh.

I'm still not convinced Gordon is a guy you can build a franchise around due to his lack of leadership and desire to be here.
not this shite again.

Considering our lack of depth at the swing position, yes he is. Center is a position of strength on the team AND in the upcoming draft. Neither of them are particularly good investments for the long-term success of the franchise, but one is about 20-25% cheaper.
You're not going to get a big Monty trade rape with Okafor. He is just not that good and is paid too much.
When did center become a position of strength? Other than Okafor, we have Kaman on a one year deal and Solomon on a 10 day contract. I would not consider that a strength. The draft is a crapshoot as to what we will be able to get. No way would I trade our starting center for a backup over the hill wing with a bad contract.

There ya go, hoss.

Hugh Weber said yesterday on the Tim Brando show that we will see at least 2 Hornets players possibly traded. Okafor and Jack?

I think Kaman and Landry are your best bets.

He's in pretty good shape right now and hasn't missed any time from injury this year, IIRC. But really it would be a pretty big risk letting Okafor walk. If we could keep Kaman at the same price, I'd prefer him to Okafor I think, but the FA C class sucks next year considering Howard and Bynum would never come here, and Hibbert is restricted (and if the Pacers lose him, they'll have money to go after Gordon). Kaman may actually be the 4th best FA C, depending on what you think about Brook Lopez and his vagina-esque rebounding. If we get Robinson/Davis in the draft, I think Oak is good enough to help a JJ/Gordon/Ariza/?/Oak squad fight for a 5-8 seed. That's a pretty big step.
I just don't want to be in a situation where we deal Okafor to clear future space, then aren't able to keep Kaman and have to settle for throwing someone like McGee or Hawes money. If we are allowed to extend Kaman still, then I would certainly be down to discuss dealing Okafor for future space on the condition that we can reach a deal with Kaman first.

Huh. Haven't seen anyone mention that on any of the boards.
Kaman is a pretty safe bet.
Landry would make a lot of sense. Jack is certainly possible as well.
I don't think Okafor will be traded. I wouldn't want to trade Ariza, Vasquez, Gordon, Ayon, etc.

Interesting. You should start a thread with this.

It said your trade failed
And why would Pacers take on RJ's contract when they have Granger and George.
Posted on 2/29/12 at 4:26 pm to WB504
Okafor would be a pretty good fit with SA, but like Ariza, I'm not keen on trading him like a lot of other fans are. Oak is a little overpaid but trading Okafor (and not keeping Kaman after this year, which probably will not happen) and not adequately replacing him would leave us with a HUGE hole. Besides, looking at the markets for centers, I personally don't find Oak to be THAT overpaid. Fans are always say quick to think teams should cut/trade a player, but in order to so, you have to replace him with something as good or better, or it would be a waste. Just my .02.

Hibbert would be great but Indy doesn't let him walk.
Lopez is allergic to rebounding. He cannot play for Monty. Will take at least 4/$50 to get him and he isn't worth that.
Hawes has had a good year, but this is the first he's had in 5 years.
Asik is interesting and I like him a lot. Still unproven, but could be very good. But he has no offensive game, which seems to be the reason for the Okafor hatred.
I like Thompson. But he's not a center.
Kaman will be pricey. Overall, he's not any better than Okafor.
If a good deal comes along, move Okafor. But I don't get the hate for the guy. The Hornets could do much worse than a double/double guy who plays very good defense.

Since Golden State is lookin to trade Steph (and Biedrins)....would you trade Kaman and Vasquez for that combo?

Yeah it said successful for me, but absolutely no way the Pacers go for that and I doubt the Spurs want to give up that much for Okafor even if it means moving RJ.
Really the only team coming to mind with cap space and desperate for a small forward are the Raptors. I'm not sure they're that desperate, although they did trade for Juju...

Maybe my trade machine is broken
Here are a couple of thrown together trades from Sheridan:
quote:
PROPOSALS: New Orleans has to find a team that needs a center. It could move Kaman to Philadelphia for Spencer Hawes (expiring $4 million deal), Andres Nocioni ($6.6 million), Tony Battie and a first-round pick. Or it could move him to Charlotte for Boris Diaw ($9 million expiring) and Augustin. Or to Boston with Jarrett Jack ($5.2 million) for Rajon Rondo ($10 million), Jermaine O’Neal ($6.2 million expiring) and Sasha Pavlovic.
And Broussard's take on our situation:
quote:
The Hornets' asking price for Chris Kaman has dropped since earlier in the season. They're seeking a draft pick, even just a second-rounder, for the center.

There's no way they would deal Curry to essentially just get out of Biedrins's shitty deal. Where are you even getting this from that they want to trade Curry? Please don't tell me that it's from the potential Paul trade (which they still didn't pull the trigger on).
