While Boston is wondering about Steph Curry, the Warrior whose name is most often heard in trade rumors is Monte Ellis. Ellis has been open to (though not insistent) leaving Golden State for years, and if he had his druthers, he'd wind up with the Lakers, the Bulls or the Magic next to Dwight Howard, sources say. But none of those scenarios appears likely. While an Ellis trade is certainly possible, the Warriors would rather move Curry than Ellis, whom they believe is the better player.

Golden State is desperate for a big man and it would take a good one for them to part with either guard. The Warriors did in fact call New Jersey back in December to inform the Nets that they would be willing to participate in a three-team trade with Orlando, whereby the Warriors would send Ellis to Orlando in exchange for Brook Lopez, according to sources.

Will take at least 4/$50 to get him and he isn't worth that.

4/$50 is cheaper than Okafor. And Lopez' career rebound numbers are 7.5 per game. That's not very good but Okafor averages 7.9 per game this year.

I won't even go there.

The disgust with Okafor is that the things he does well, he doesn't do them in crunch time or against elite centers.

People compare what he brings to what Ariza brings, but he is the total opposite. Ariza plays better with the game on the line and is just as successful guarding Kobe or Durant as guarding Kyle Korver.

Gotcha, that's the first I've heard of it. Still, there's no fricking way they would do Curry/Biedrins for Kaman/Vasquez. I don't see any scenario where we could get Curry without including Gordon. But yeah, even if we had to include the Minnesota pick, I'd be down for that trade. They were stupid to amnesty Bell instead of Biedrins. Would suck having all that money invested in Okafor and Biedrins, but Curry is really cheap for the next 3 years, so that makes up for it. It's a "mute" point, though.

What part of his contract ends at the end of the season is so damn hard for you to understand? The Hornets thought about keeping him past this year and he wanted too much, so they decided to part ways with him. What have you seen that makes you think he is a Hornet for the long term, so much so that you would be willing to dump your starting center? Besides all of that, who in their right mind would want Jefferson and his terrible contract in return? He is a backup with no value and a terrible contract.

I am with you, I do not see them unloading Curry as he is really the face of the team. If they would unload him, I would gladly take on Biedrens contract and send them Kaman, Jack and consider Minny's first as well. We would then have a seriously injury prone backcourt, but phenomenal potential for a core.

It is cheaper and Lopez is a very good scorer. This year he's grabbing 8% of rebounds. Granted a small sample but last year it was 10% and it has gone down every year he's been in the league. Okafor has been a consistent 18% until this year where he's dropped to 16%.

Pair Lopez w/ a monster rebounding pf and it can work, but I still don't like him that much.

Okafor isn't great. Hes not a center to build around. He's the 5th scoring option on a good starting 5. So are all those guys other than Hibbert, Lopez, and Kaman. He is overpaid.

But he isn't the worthless player that he's made out to be. I remember games he secured last year w/ a putback, or a block or a rebound.

They should look to move him if a good deal comes along. If not they should look to draft bigs and his future replacement. But he is not a cap killing bum that must be moved.

As an example, Okafur has had really good games, at least defensively, against the likes of Howard. He's definitely a serviceable center

This sentiment always drives me crazy. Franchise players, which Okafor is paid to be, shouldn't just be serviceable. He would have to be the greatest defensive player in the league to justify his salary (I mean Rodman level defensive player). They should do whatever they can to dump Okafor.

For a player that makes close to as much as he does that doesn't contribute as much? It's like spending $30k on a stock Camry, regretting it, and trading it for a Yugo and $5k.

Watching Kaman and Ayon play and I would say that it is clear that Kaman is clearly the better option at C with our current group of players.

Then it's a good thing the roster will be turning over in the next year or 2
