This never ending soap opera shite show is toxic to the franchise and the fans and is demoralizing to the hard working players who actually show up and bust their butts every game.

Is a "generational talent" that only plays 28 games/year actually valuable to the team? I don't know if this is on Zion for not being able to stay in shape or if it's on the FO for being "extremely cautious" (however I do know this is Not On Herb ).

All I know is that heads have to roll this summer. Whether it's unloading Zion and/or cleaning out the FO and training/medical staff, something big has to happen or this franchise is doomed

This cat never wanted to be in New Orleans, a blown out shoe in the presence of a former President elevated him right into a city he never wanted to be in. Why are people still making excuses for this man?

I can’t say it any better than this. It’s really difficult to believe.

So the possibilities here are:

Zion is healed but is too fat to play.

Zion isn’t healed, and is having the longest hamstring injury in the history of hamstring injuries.

Zion is healed, in decent enough shape to play, but we simply don’t want to risk playing him and being reinjured to the point that he might miss the beginning of next season, b/c we need excitement to sell tickets.

Don’t know which one is the worst and they all are shitty, and extremely realistic.

He's had enough hits on injury news that it's clear he has a source in the building. Not saying it's a high level source, because he really hasn't broken much besides injury news, but he's had multiple injury scoops before anyone else.

is "saving him for the postseason... whatever that may hold" a possibility?

No, people have to vent, so it's always the worst possible interpretation of the news.

In private, sure, but publicly feuding with your star is never a winning play.

Meh. We’re a play on tournament team two years running - otherwise known as nba limbo.

As a ticket holder scorned, sign me up for public fat shaming. Zion has been too fat since day 1.

Just call a spade a spade. He’s out of shape and he needs to be at 265 tops by the start of next season. 280+ Zion will not work over the long haul. If your playing weight is right up against the line of too fat, you will eventually trip over it over the course of 82 games.

He thought the season was over. His team rallied. And he failed his teammates and the franchise.

Maybe this is the offseason he decides to not be fat.

lost in how great last season ended... we finished the regular season 10 games BELOW .500

this year we're going to gain somewhere between 5-7 in the win column and finish with at least a .500 record if not a winning record

yes we're still a play-in team... but that's at least still improvement year-on-year and I don't think anyone believes we've hit a peak yet on where this team can go

That's the exact same story from last season. Maybe he's just a lazy fat bastard that can jump really high but doesn't want to put in the work required to actually play professional basketball.

Zion’s rehab is timing coincidentally with the expiration of peat’s contract.

Agreed, but without a committed Zion our ceiling is a 48-50 win solid 3 seed team. With Zion it’s a championship Team.

For all our construction flaws, Zion is so good when he plays I take us to win the championship this year if he was healthy. That’s what is so painful about this. It’s much worse than the AD years.

Don’t be fat, get in shape, and a championship is in play right now.

Can we get some of our money back due to the fat clause? It’s fricking inexcusable at this point.

That Scoop tweet is total BS and just doesn’t make sense. Why would a franchise hold their best player out when they are neck deep in a playoff race?!?! Isn’t this the time you need your max player?!?! What the hell are you paying him for if not to play basketball.

I’m telling you guys that’s a bold face lie. I’m not trying to sound like a guy who says they have sources because I really don’t but I met a friend of my family who’s part of the pelicans training staff. I knew he was going to be out for the season since Mardi Gras. Zion came into the league entitled and immature. He doesn’t put in the work to maintain his body. It’s all out there. JJ Reddick said it, SVG called him out, other players said it, local and mainstream guys called it out. Hell even the Pels put a weight/conditioning cause in his contract. He gets injured and always balloons up.

Pelicans star Zion Williamson – sidelined since Jan. 2 with a hamstring strain – is unlikely to return to action in next week's Play-In Tournament, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The team has been cautious with Williamson's comeback as he continues rehab process.
