@TheofficialEG10: ATL!! Come to Central Park this Saturday at 11. I’ll pick the best 10 to face the Ball Up Stars that night at 7pm at GSU Sports Arena.
He has to start pick up games with random people off the streets to have a chance of beating anyone

Divisions barely even matter in the NBA

We get an extra game against 4 tough teams because of our division. If you miss the playoffs by 1 game, you can probably argue that being in another division would have put you over the top. Moral of the story, don't miss the playoffs by 1 game.

An increase of 9% doesn't count as significant improvement? He also improved about the same amount at the basket

It's definitely improvement, but it's an improvement from god awful to slightly nauseating.

All I'm saying is that I see potential there for him to be a solid combo guard, so while he clearly isn't untradable, he also isn't something you just throw away to make cap space.

The same argument holds true for Gordon except that he makes more, but is also a better player.

Kind of a big deal. You can't dump Rivers and use his cap space to sign a player significantly better than he is or 2 players just as good.

With it going down this way, two teams in our division actually get better. This division is absolutely insane. Toughest in sports, imo.

I'm not sure how much better Houston is going to get. They're now going to have to find dollar store starters at 1 and 3 and be left with little quality depth. They'll have a lot more money tied up in Bosh/Howard/Harden than Miami did in Lebron/Wade/Bosh, yet they won't have Ray Allen taking a haircut. Even with a nicked Wade, I'm not sure I'd take the Houston big 3 over the Miami big 3. Bosh needs to keep refining that outside shot if he wants to fit with Howard and Harden.

It doesn't appear you can for Gordon, either.

I'm really not that worried if they lose Parsons and gain Bosh. Would have been a big deal if they would have kept Parsons and added Bosh, though.

I actually agree with you. Im not as high on Bosh as most people are at this point. I think he's breaking down and has turned into a totally 1 dimensional mid-to-deep two point jump shooter. An he's not a good 3 point shooter, despite taking more and more.

With that said, they'll still be a very good team. Maybe not much better than last year, but shouldn't get worse.

they could potentially have both, yeah?

also, if I was T-Jones, I'd be pissed. dude was getting very good toward the end of last season. this could stunt his growth.

Not when the league dumps $150 million on the market. It will be interesting to see if prices normalize a bit next year or if the cap keeps rising and the insanity continues.

They could swing them both, but I was basing my comment off of a rumor that they weren't bringing back Parsons.

Not sure if it was commented on in here but I think that Toronto signing Gravy and James Johnson takes them out of the running for Pj Tucker.

It's even worst for Parsons, he helped them recruiting Howard and they are letting him go for an overated Bosh..

Listening to Gates interview from today...way too much Brian Roberts talk. Gates manages to insert him into as many answers as possible. You can tell this staff goes to bed patting themselves on the back for developing a totally subpar backup PG.

They talk about Roberts in the same way the Saints talk about Colston.

Last I saw was they weren't going to match the Mavs offer, so that would put an end to it. I doubt they'd really want him at that price if they got Bosh. That would give them:

Dwight Howard $21,436,271
Chris Bosh $20,644,400
James Harden $14,728,844
Chandler Parsons $14,746,000

4 guys: $71,555,515

That's only $5.25M away from the tax line with 8 or 9 roster spots to fill.

The league predicts it will climb to about $66M next year. This year seems to have corrected the low increase we saw last year.

It matters because we have to play everyone in our division 4 times.

You do that with all but 4 teams in your conference, in which case you play 3 times. I'm not trying to be a dick, but it really doesn't matter.

I guess you could say that it hurts us to be geographicly close to tx teams so that we have to be in their division and thus conference.

It's tough for me to say who they will be better with, but I do think Bosh will be better, or at least more efficent, in Houston than he was in Miami.

You arguing that the 10th pick was minnys had nothing to do with the point I was trying to make. He was the last draft pick that we owned that we actually picked someone. Did you also notice I responded with a very logical explanation to your second point, in which you were clearly wrong?

This Asik deal, if it costs us rivers and all of our cap room, is a bad move. It gives us nothing for the future and is further handcuffing us. I don't agree with this strategy of backing ourselves in a hole to have a legitimate roster with no young (1st contract) talent and no first round picks for 2 years.

If we need to move rivers, so be it, but I'd prefer it to be to fill a need of a similar caliber player, rather than a salary dump. I just find it short sighted.
