not to mention, that would mean the only thing left from the CP3 trade is a player/contract we all want desperately to get rid of (EG)
And a team that was bad enough to net Anthony Davis.

I bet you got all your retirement in money markets and CDs, pussy.
I understand that no draft pick is guaranteed to pan out, everyone does. But in all honesty, if a FO can't turn 4 lottery picks into 2 starters, that fit your team, you don't have a shot to begin with. It also means you fill your roster with unknowns year after year for cheap labor.
Another way of looking at it is return. We would be essentially dumping rivers, on a favorable contract, just to obtain Asik. It just seems like hasty business to me.

That's why I said I'd hope we could get a future pick in return. Ajinca's a decent backup big considering his contract, so Rivers + Ajinca should be able to pull a top 10 protected pick from a team that actually had an interest in Rivers.
Memphis has a $3.1 million trade exception and let Ed Davis go. Maybe Aminu can be a cheaper replacement. Add that to their interest in Brian Roberts and you have the makings of a 3way for Asik. Trade Aminu for $3.1 million and Roberts for one of their other $1.1 million trade exceptions. Then trade Ely and Babbit to Houston and Asik to New Orleans.

Well sure I would hope so too but the FO seems to have lost their way by simply trying to put a winner on the floor this year, which isn't happening anyway. That heavily of a protected pick is a small consolation, and it seems like we are turning into one of the teams that helps good teams get better, rather than being one of the teams that prays on desperation.
I suppose I would feel different if Asik wasn't just this year, as I believe is a UFA next season, whereas rivers would be RFA.

If we're throwing out random insults and guesses then:
I bet you have no retirement money at all
And your mother's a whore

He was the 2nd best catch and shoot 3 guy on the team last year. Good defensive hustle, an improving FT shot, and the ability to get into the lane at will. He still may be another year or 2 away from being a dependable Jarret Jack type of back up/fringe starting combo guard, but the potential is there and we've seen steady improvement since he got here.

I still think Rivers will be a solid NBA player.

A sign and trade between Dallas and Houston will not be happening re: Chandler Parsons, I'm told. The Rockets have the offer sheet.

on 99 attempts...does anyone really trust him as or think he's necessarily a good three-point shooter? I'm not sold...not to mention no one respects him as a shooter and his form is turrible.
He gets to the rim at will, but shot 40%, and has a non-existent in-between game

Good defensive hustle
agreed.

ya, in two years, he could be a dependable asset...maybe, maybe not...he's not good right now and not some untradeable asset

Cavs pressed Celtics/Nets officials to complete paperwork on 3-way trade in last hour, needed it done "immediately." Cap space is clear now.
This looks like the first information from a reliable source that points to LeBron to Cleveland, which of course means Bosh to Houston.

It wasn't random, I was making a joke at your obvious risk aversion, by taking the sure thing when it clearly won't beat the market (ie, this team, with Asik, will never even make it to the finals).

...could Cleveland think they have a chance at Lebron when they really don't?
Posted on 7/10/14 at 2:17 pm to drake20
I think Cleveland has a chance but who really knows? Only Swami LeBron.
Posted on 7/10/14 at 2:17 pm to drake20
I think it'd pretty obvious they do, and I expect it to happen. If he were going back to the heat we would know.
