No bites yet.

A couple teams are holding still to see what the Thunder decide to do. re: Westbrook. I expect them to come out and announce they aren't trading him and then teams going about their business. The restricted market is also slowing things down a bit too, as teams ponder putting out offer sheets on the 7th, and are trying to see if they can do sign and trades with RFA

There should be another uptick in the speed of the market later this week.

This is kind of funny. Morey has brought in a bunch of guys he tried to get years ago. He wanted to S&T for Gordon, tried to get Ryno multiple times, and in the vetoed CP3 trade they'd have signed Nene had they gotten Gasol. I'm not saying they're necessarily bad moves, it's just funny that he's getting a bunch of guys from his long time wishlist and only Ryno is anywhere close to the same player he tried to get way back when.

Source told me last week that #Nets and Pelicans were exploring trade for Markel Brown, but clearly fell through.

TBW speculating that the Heat may take a flyer on Tyreke if Wade skips town given that Riley isn't the type that likes to go through long rebuilds. They also say a third team would likely need to be involved to make that work.

Seems like a long shot, but long shots may be all we have with Tyreke.

I am thinking Frazier may not have as much leverage as we thought. There are still some serviceable backup PGs that could be had at or near the min.

Kind of feels like we are in a holding pattern, trying to trade someone to open up space or see what happens with Frazier.

The Pelicans are nearing a deal with guard Langston Galloway, league sources say. The Knicks recently made him an unrestricted free agent

Nice.

I hope he came cheaply, they wanted Frazier, a backup guard a backup big, and maybe a guy or 2 from the SL team.

I would assume this means no Frazier, and we'll have to use some exception to get a backup PF, unless we unload Reke?

I'm a little concerned about our big men depth. Seems like we are going to hope for a lot of good luck with Asik playing better and Diallo contributing somehow. I don't like having to hope for that.

I do like the signing though. much much better defender than Frazier. He fits the bill as to the kind of guys we've been going after.

There are better individual talents to be found across the NBA, but no available free agent is as important to New York’s future as Galloway. He’s an unselfish contributor who lives for big moments, competes defensively, and spaces the floor.

In 2015-16, the Knicks posted their best defensive rating when Galloway was on the floor: -103.2. The Knicks’ worst defensive rating, 106.5, was accumulated when Galloway was off the floor.
