Yeah, I would need to know the opportunity cost before resigning Frazier. It really does seem like backup PGs are a dime a dozen these days.

I'd rather that money going to a backup 4, and going find another backup pg elsewhere for bare minimum, like we've done the last 3 years.
You might be able to get him for the Room Exception, Ennis only got $3 per and there are a lot of PGs on the market. But I agree, the last 2 minimum pass first PGs you brought in ran the offense competently, we have another guy that fits that description on the Summer League team in Larry Drew II. If Frazier costs too much to keep let him go.

I'd like Thomas Robinson. Athletic big man that can play the 5 for us against quicker smaller teams. Good defender, great rebounder. No reason he can't be the same guy Tristan Thompson is for the Cavs.
I don't understand how he shot almost 70% from the FT line in college his last year, yet in 4 years in the nba he's a 51% free throw shooter.

Latest thing I heard is that they are hoping they can bring back Frazier with cap space and they are at least considering splitting the Room up between 2 SL guys if they like two. Can give them each more than the minimum, which would beat other offers. Or, give the space to the SL guys and the room to Frazier

Where are we at in terms of guaranteed contracts right now?
Davis
Jrue
Tyreke
Hield
Qpon
Hill
Moore
Asik
Ajinca
Cunningham
That's 10. I'll throw Diallo in there so we are at 11.
Need about 3 more spots. So if they cut Douglas and Babbit, they can possibly sign a TRob type PF player that falls through the cracks, sign Diallo into space, possibly sign Frazier to the RLE.
You then only really need one more spot, vet minimum or SL roster guy.

The appeal of SL guys is that maybe you can get them on a deal like we had BDJ for- where you basically can control them for two to three years (if you use space) at a low number, with little to no guaranteed money

I would guess Minnerath and Drew would be the frontrunners before we play.
Don't we need to sign Diallo into space?

I'm starting to get excited about this upcoming season. I don't have huge expectations for us, just want to see us compete and grow.

Not if they can dump Reke or Ajinca. And they are trying with Reke. His reps are helping look too

So, he wants out, too?

I think they are waiting out the market and hoping they can get a guy on their list cheap. I'm happy to see that kind of patience instead of dumping, or worse paying to dump Tyreke/Ajinca to create cap space and get guys that can help now.

I would dump Tyreke today if I knew it could get me Galloway and Dedmon. Those guys won't be on the market in a week.

If the team has decided he's out then it's in his interest to find a mutually agreeable destination.

If his guys are looking to move him as well, i think there had to be a conversation saying you're not playing for us this year, we are actively looking to move you, so either help out and look for a trade to a team you like, or we are cutting you if nothing happens.

I didn't realize Galloway is from Baton Rouge. Makes me want to acquire him more. Wonder if he would take less money for a bigger role for his hometown team?

Almost no one will take less money. Especially a guy that hasn't made 100 million.
Galloway and Dedmon would actually give us a deep roster.

What is Galloway's projected salary demand? $5m?
What about Dedmon's?

Guys have we reached the minimum on how much you have to spend per year? And if so, how much money do we have till we reach the max? Thanks
Posted on 7/5/16 at 11:37 am to tigerforever7
Yes we are above the salary floor.
We are 2 million-ish below the soft cap.
