The Nets had literally zero PGs outside of this year's 2nd rd pick on the roster.

Lin signed into a guaranteed starter's role

Would be very pleased with that, considering our options. I'm a fan of Galloway.

Nah. He's back in NYC with media exposure. That's what he wanted. And playing time. Can't blame him.

Pels have enough guards. Don't need to be overpaying another.

Gallawoy is a nice get.

I love at the upside of Nicholson. I don't think we know what he is/can be with being coached by Skiles.

He got some consistent run for a stretch last year, and scored double digits in like 7-9 games straight. IIRC

Haven't heard any rumors on Galloway and Nicholson. Those are 2nd or 3rd wave guys after the initial loads are blown.

I want to be patient too, and not do anything stupid, but it seems like we are not even trying to go after the 2nd and 3rd rung guys, like Dudley and Evan Turner, or even Solomon Hill and Harkless. We get mentioned as interested in Turner, yet he's meeting with the Knicks, and doing nothign with us.

I think we are looking at two directions here. Try to sign a decent wing and if healthy, make a good run at the playoffs. Doing this could help in signing a decent FA next summer, or it could be another bad contract we are stuck with.
Or pretty much sign no one of significance, kind of suck again, and build through the draft one more time. Problem with this is no one will want to come here next summer either b/c we still suck. This plan would have us not really looking to add a decent FA until 2018, which i guess i like a bit more once all these ridiculous contracts start balancing out.

The smart front office offers these guys now. Price will go up substantially once all the dust is settled and teams have tons of money they HAVE TO SPEND.

If you're talking about Galloway I guess the Nets won't have a choice since he played for the Knicks.

Why would Turner want to meet with us when we have Tyreke. I know the plan would be to mover him but he doesn't know that. Plus he seems like a guy who likes the attention of a big market.

I agree, but probably not over the Blazers. If this was last off season, it's a different story.

New Orleans could have secured Jeremy Lin's services, but venturing beyond $10M annually became the sticking point. Brooklyn stepped up.

Feel like Lin probably could have gotten more, clearly values reuniting with Kenny Atkinson.

Lin for 3/$36 w/ a PO on year 3 is a good contract. Lin at $10M would have been great

That hurts.

He's going to start for them.

Dell and Danny might strike out, but it's not because they aren't trying. They are trying very hard and will likely have at least one committment within the next 48 hours. But when you are competing with multiple teams on every guy and all those teams have money, it is very easy to lose out when your market isn't appealing, your ownership is a league wide joke, and you won 30 games last year
