The downside with Lin is what NOFOX has been concerned with, he's basically new Asik with that player option next year. A guy you traded a 1st for that helped you make the playoffs so you can't just let him walk. Maybe we won't care about paying him $20 million per if we're a top 4 seed, but the Pels will probably be forced to pay him unless it's a disaster.

I hate giving up 1st rounders for guys on the last year of their deals (especially one that is not a very high level player).

I feel like the market has gone down considerably this offseason. Even in the best case scenario, I don't see him getting a deal better than George Hill's 3 for 57 with a partial guarantee on the last year.

Just google it man. It is just Vegas win totals.

I think the pels are the 6th seed with 43.5 wins or something.

Denver and Memphis just below at 42.

Edit: Actually lines have already moved some. Now we are tied for 7-9

Golden State Warriors 67 ½
Houston Rockets 56 ½
San Antonio Spurs 55 ½
Oklahoma City Thunder 48 ½
Minnesota Timberwolves 46 ½
Denver Nuggets 42 ½
New Orleans Pelicans 41 ½
Memphis Grizzlies 41 ½
Los Angeles Clippers 41 ½
Portland Trail Blazers 40 ½
Dallas Mavericks 34 ½
Los Angeles Lakers 32 ½
Sacramento Kings 31 ½
Phoenix Suns 25 ½

Utah Jazz OFF

And Asik wasn't getting anywhere near the offers we gave him, but what do you do when the agent is holding all of the cards? We would have invested a 1st in him for 1 year and wouldn't have anyone waiting in the wings to feign letting him walk unless Frank Jackson is a revelation. It is the opposite of what the Spurs do. We will only have the MLE and more future 1sts avilable to find a replacement while simulataneously convincing Boogie to re-sign.

I just don't want to see Dell put at such a disadvantage considering his reputation for negotiation already. That is why I would greatly prefer to trade for someone with 2 years left. Then Dell or whomever can independently evaluate/negotiate without worrying about Boogie.

Sources: The Mavs are in the process of finalizing a two-year, $10 million deal with Dirk Nowitzki. The second season will be a team option.

Dirk taking $5M this year so the Mavs can re-sign Noel and no one else is interesting.

No one is going to convince me that Cuban is not compensating him somehow outside of the salary cap. That is an unbelievable pay cut for someone like Dirk.

Gonna be ticked if Utah gets Crowder for nothing.

Supposedly Danny is trying to get picks and Hood. I cannot believe that he would give up Crowder for nothing to Utah as opposed to trading Crowder elsewhere for assets.

Gobert
Rubio
Crowder
Joe Johnson
Favors
Hood
Ingles
Diaw
Burks
Mack
Lyles

That's good for 40ish wins probably

Wow, if he gets picks and Hood, he is doing well.
