Thinking about it...I'm a little weary of trying to acquire Miles via sign-and-trade as it would hard cap us this season and we need all the flexibility we can get.

How would we get Bledsoe?
You'd have to trade multiple future 1sts, it's what Phoenix got for Dragic.

I doubt the Pels are going over the apron anyway.

Well, if you have a sign-and-trade it doesn't matter because that's an automatic hard-cap

Yeah, but we're a little under $9 million under the tax with the current roster minus Cunningham. Phoenix tried to dump Dudley on us during the draft, what if that's a requirement of trading for Bledsoe? We can legally take back about $7.5 million more than we send out. So $9 - $7.5 is only $1.5 away from the tax. Sign someone to the MLE and you're over the tax and you haven't even brought back Cunningham.

You're hard capped at the apron, not where you end up after the trade.

True. I read what you wrote wrong. Oops

If that happens, then the Pels will probably give up assets to get off of salary (dumping Ajinca, Qpon, any dead money they receive in the trade, and stretching Asik if needed).

Lots of interest for Kelly Olynyk, I'm told, with Nets, Pacers, Kings, Jazz coming on strong. Pacers are trying to shed salary to land him

Even if Asik was untradeable, why wouldn't they just stretch him rather than go into the tax this year?
$11MM contract in 2018 only gtd for $3MM.
could be very valuable and maybe worth a little wallet pain in 2017

Looking for an update. Let me know if this is all correct.
We missed the playoffs last year by two spots. One team ahead of us (Utah) got worse. Clippers got a little worse, but not that much worse. Two teams (Minn. & Denver) got better. Im not sure if the Grizz and Kings are better or not. And the powerhouses (GSW, Thunder & Rockets) got more powerful.
We haven't signed or traded for anyone.

They won't go into the tax this year. They will stretch Asik or dump other contracts to avoid the tax. I think they will try to dump Anjica and wait to stretch/dump Asik until next season.

Clippers lost their all star PG and their best shooter and intend to increase the role of one Austin Rivers while relying on an oft injured PF, an oft injured PF/SF and a C with 0 range, but they just got a little worse?
Maybe I am in the minority, but I think the Clippers are going to be bad.

The Clippers got much worse. Utah won't be in the playoffs. The Grizz will be worse just due to age. The Kings got better, but that is irrelevant.
The Pels signed Holiday, which is a big deal

And if they start out slow they could blow it all up.

I don't think so. I think his point was that the Pels are in a worse position in regards to making the playoffs, than they were last year. But, that really isn't true because the Clippers were a lock last year and aren't a lock this year. The Grizzlies will be worse just due to age. Utah will have dropped out of the playoffs.
The Pels are in the playoff mix anywhere from 4-8, and they aren't done dealing this offseason.

Demarcus Cousins
Jrue
Cousins played 17 games here, Jrue missed 15 w/ his wife stuff. We were 7 games behind the 8th seed POR
