I could definitely see us as a top 5 team in the West next year with that roster if Oden stayed healthy.

Collison is going to be a star. Thornton, Fernandez, Batum, and Pondexter are legit/going to be legit. West is a great player evnthough his game has not meshed well in the past.

Regardless of the players we get back the cap space will be great to help with the youth movement and new front office era.

2. with Portland-CP3/Okafor/JuJu for Oden/Miller/Batum/Pryz/Fernandez

i don't think oden is part of the deal, and i don't know if okafor is part of the deal

with the Knicks-CP3/Okafor/Posey for Gallinari/Chandler/Curry/Randolph/Cash

i think this is a dream trade. i don't think new york would take okafor and they may not offer randolph, chandler, AND dano

If any team in the NBA is prone to making stupid trades, it's the knickerbockers.

Then they can ship Okafor to Toronto for their TPE, who are willing to do that

Then why would we package Okafor with CP3 if we could just send Okafor straight to Toronto and get a WAAAAYYY better package for CP3 and no baggage, or CP3 and Posey?

Rip Hamilton is 32 and Jason Maxiell is a 6'7 power forward.

Barkley's on PTI. He calls CP3's demand for a trade turrible, saying that he's got 2 years left on his contract and that Barkley himself stuck it out longer in Philly than CP3 did in New Orleans before demanding a trade.

The Hornets better be the next name on this damn list.... Rudy could be a great fit here and with his contract it isnt a huge risk.

At the urging of Rudy Fernandez and his agent, the Trail Blazers have engaged in accelerated trade discussions to deal the disgruntled, once- popular shooting guard to one of three Eastern Conference teams. Boston, Chicago and New York are all in the running to land the 6-foot-6 Spaniard, who set an NBA rookie record two seasons ago by making 159 three-pointers

He wants to be a featured player but Thornton isn't some lightweight backup you leave on the bench. I'm not sure if Rudy would be happy with his role on the Hornets.

They can play together. Rudy is big enough to play the 3, and can actually start there IMO.

I find it interesting that the Hornets haven't been mentioned at all in any free agent discussion, especially with guys like Rudy who we can get fairly cheap.

Do you think Demps will make a few moves or is he going to be set with what we have? Maybe Ike Diogu will be healthy enough to give another shot?

I think they're saving their ammo for the trade deadline (if they intend to do anything at all). FA is not the acquisition model you'd expect from a guy like Demps.

Yeah and we also want to avoid any kind of multiyear deals for role players that might hinder us for next year's big free agency (See: Posey, James)
