Alright so if Boogie is done for the year, do we make any trades at the deadline to attempt to make the playoffs or do we stay quiet and hope for next year?

The small ball AD unit was really starting to gel last year before the trade. I'm convinced they'd have made the playoffs last year if the trade never happens. This probably tempts Demps even more to go after a guy like Carroll who can play small ball PF, which would be a bad trade IMO.

Story posting soon on ESPN: Detroit has made starting shooting guard Avery Bradley available in trade talks. Acquired in July trade with Celtics, Bradley will be a free agent this summer.

Seems like a prime target for OKC.

Yeah, but what would OKC offer? Abrines? I would think SVG would like Moore better. I might like Moore better, hasn't Bradley's defense fallen off some?

It has fallen off some in DET, but I believe he is still a plus defender and we run a Boston like system. However, I would rather have Moore because it would take time to integrate Bradley and Moore’s contract is better. Moore is our 3rd best player right now, so I don’t think we can trade him unless we are getting a real difference maker back ala Kemba.

Makes too much sense for OKC. Not sure what’s they have to make it work, but I am sure they are ready to mortgage the future to win to get PG to stay.

Any chance we would try to get Drummond in a potential package with Bradley as well?

I'm sure they're willing to, but they may not be able to. They've already traded their 2018 and 2020 1sts. that means they could only send out a 2021 1st in a trade. Abrines and a 2021 1st doesn't do much to help SVG keep his job.

We haven't heard anything to make us think they aren't committed to Couisins and people with inside access have said they want to keep Boogie, so I don't see why they'd try to trade for Drummond.

What Dell will try to do

Step 1: Trade more player and more money (and pick) for less players and less money

Step 2: Attack buyout market aggressively

Hope is to get 3 rotation guys in exchange for guys not really giving them much and/or anything good now

I've heard basically the same. Should be interesting.

The Pels seem to really think they can get Frye or Monroe,.so trading for a big isn't as high priority as it might appear

Sounds like the dream is a Kemba, M Williams, Frye trio. Would have to lose Moore in that scenario but no other really impactful guys. Get Solo back too and that's a deep team

The framework would be Asik and a pick to a third team, Ajinca, Moore, a pick, maybe a prospect, and expirings to Charlotte with Kemba and Williams coming to NOLA. Then, Frye on the buyout market.

Williams and Kemba make over 25. Frye would cost another million, lets say, so the Pels would have to send out 26-27 mil

Asik, Ajinca, Moore, Nelson, and Tony Allen going out works.

Williams, Kemba, Frye in and keep Liggins for the rest of the year

Kemba/Rondo
Jrue/Clark
Hill/Miller
Williams/Cunningham/Liggins
AD/Frye/Diallo

Not sure why we would do that unless we are OK with going into the tax.

his on/off defensive metrics weren't great in Boston. Bradley is a tenacious on ball defender. but his size is a problem and there seems to be some other off ball stuff going on too given that this isn't a new pattern.

definitely agree that i would be unwilling to do Moore for Bradley given their respective contracts- Bradley could be too $$$ or just walk this summer

I have to admit, I like Kemba Walker and Williams is a solid vet. That team would be pretty solid and would make some noise (would be a hell of a defensive squad with Hill back). I hate giving up so many picks, but looks like its almost unavoidable with this FO. 2 future 1sts?

Btw, is Davis alright with playing Center full time now? The only option at Center is Frye and he is a situational player, so Davis is a Center full time until Cousins comes back, right?

"AD will agree to play the 5"

is that a hope or something you have heard? if it's the latter, it's for the rest of the year i assume

Yep. Plus maybe Diallo and/or Jackson. And Charlotte still might say no. There are MANY conversations going on. They aren't putting every egg in any basket. Much like last year. If you would have asked them ten days before the deadline last year, they would have told you Dwight or B Lopez was likely gonna be a Pelican. But then the Boogie miracle happened.

Thats why you talk to everyone. And keep talking.
