Anybody who could help will choose somewhere else. You gotta find guys that nobody else wants. Which is why I would be looking at the G League. Grab my boy Lemon!!

Gotta assume they start giving D-League guys a shot soon with the two roster spots they just opened up.

Right. Us not hearing anything yet probably just means we're talking to guys multiple teams have interest in so they have to go through a bit of a negotiation process. The Pels have a fantastic record of getting GLeague guys they sign late in the year a contract in the league the following year. They'll hopefully have their choice of GLeague guys.

Sources: The Rockets plan to release guard Troy Williams to create roster space for Joe Johnson signing. Williams is expected to receive interest as free agent.

He is the perfect type to give a contract to if he takes a second year player option.

Raw as can be, but basically he is your draft pick for 2018 and you hope he hits and gives you something for the minimum next year.

he's a year younger than AD. I wouldn't describe him as "raw as can be", after 3 years in college and 2 in the nba, and "like a draft pick".

That being said, i'd love to give him a run.

Of course team option :)

Personally I like this Williams guy. Within two days he will clear waivers. We will see by then.

I know. but he's 23 years old. You aren't raw anymore, especially after being in college for 3 years. He's not going to improve upon his raw talent at this point much more. He can definitely get better, but as far as his physical talents, you know what they are capable of at this point.

The Houston Rockets had planned on waiving Troy Williams to create a roster spot for Joe Johnson, but will now keep Williams. The Rockets are making an alternate roster move to create a spot for Johnson. Williams is in his second NBA season but has only appeared in four games in 17-18. Williams is averaging 19.4 points and 5.8 rebounds in the G League. Williams went undrafted in 2016 out of Indiana.

I am describing his skill set, not his age or history.

Because I have actually seen him play...

Wonder if this is true or just recycled news.

Don't understand this move.
Why wouldn't they cut Tarik Black instead?

Too much money?

Feigen covers the Rockets and is pretty solid IIRC. Shams just tweeted it too.

5 10 day contracts were signed in the last 15 hours. Nobody really notable, but we've been waiting for Demps to add someone else and it looks like transactions are starting to pick up again.
