ESPN Sources: Ime Udoka has agreed to a deal to become the next Houston Rockets coach.

The Rockets probed the circumstances around Udoka’s Celtics departure with the team and league office, sources said. Udoka – who led the Celtics to the 2022 NBA Finals in his only season as head coach – was dismissed after findings of an inappropriate workplace relationship.

Improvements in our division…bad for Pels.

Side note, our divisions got some really good coaching outside of JKidd.

Would not be shocked if Rockets are good next year.

That presumes that he has the option to take the Raptors job.

He’s a really good coach and the Rockets have a couple nice pieces to work with.

I’d trade the rockets future for ours to be completely honest

Much better setup for future success

They already have 2 future stars on the roster in Green and Sengun. They have nice role player pieces around them. And there is a high possibility one of Wemby, Scoot, or Brandon Miller will be on the team next season.

We should have tanked for a few more years after landing zion. Instead we tried to win from the jump and make win now moves like trading for Steven Adams and CJ. Like what was the point of keeping Jrue around and signing JJ redick and favors? We were never going to do anything that year and we could’ve tanked and gotten Ant edwards or lamelo

Adams, sure.

But CJ, that move was made for this season, which is year 4 of Zion and year 7 for BI.

We're wayyy behind schedule, so putting it off longer wouldn't be a good idea.

Yeah I’ll give you CJ but I’ll never understand drafting Jax 8th but then signing favors and starting him over jax his rookie year then that offseason trading actual assets for Adams and giving him an extension and having him start over jax. Like none of those moves made sense. I get Jax didn’t turn out to be a stud but from the start the direction never made sense

I get blaming Griffin for a lot. But Hayes bears the responsibility for his failure. At this point he should be a top 10 defensive player in the league. He's an above average athletic 7 footer. That is super rare. Defense is all effort and progression. He straight up doesn't give a shite and has just coasted on his potential. It's a travesty. Just a waste.

Looking back, he's still the right pick. He was the most talented player at that point and had the highest ceiling. No ragrets..

You are looking at it from a biased Pels fan perspective

I’m a Pels fan, but I try to look at things from an unbiased perspective

The Rockets are going to be a problem. The only way we can contend with them is if A) Zion starts actually loving basketball enough to care about his body or B) we dump Zion to the highest bidder and reset.

Oh absolutely put a lot of responsibility on jax but Im saying they made moves that don't make sense even knowing what we know about Jax. Why block your 8th pick from starting more as a rookie by bringing in favors. Then you trade real assets for adams and give him an extension before he even plays a game while you're 8th pick hasnt even started his 2nd year. I mean hell jax started 17 games in his first 2 years. He was clearly a player that needed to be developed when he was drafted but they never had a plan to develop him

I don't really agree with anything you say but I agree with this thought. He was supposed to be the rim protector who masked Zion's weaknesses and be his running mate.

We are literally trying to find a guy who we hoped Hayes would develop into. That's been a need since day 1. Still is to this day.

Im saying the process doesn't make sense. Since we drafted zion we've made win now moves and win later moves. When you straddle the fence like that you hurting the now and the later. If you draft Jax 8th start him for 100 games and find out that he sucks, otherwise trade that pick for an established center if you're trying to win now. Pick a direction and lean all the way dont just half arse it

This rockets love is nuts lol

They have one good NBA player in Sengun. Everyone else is average to below average at this point

Jalen Green, Jabari smith, etc. are not winning players at this point
