It's never a bad night...when somebody beats the Lakers. (Assuming I didn't just jinx the Kings)

The compression in the seeding is insane

There is no clear cut No. 1 in the West IMO.
Denver is the best until proven otherwise.
I'm not a believer in Minnesota or OKC at all, and I could see either or both losing their first-round series.
I think the Lakers or Warriors would beat either of them.
Sacto is also a pretender.

Damn. That’s brutal. I think they can still keep a top 4 spot without him, but that’s tough.

What’s the recovery on a torn meniscus?

Depends. He’s getting 2nd opinions.
If it’s surgery it’s several months. He wouldn’t be back

I agree.
Denver is the team to beat, and i'd put a healthy Clippers team as the next best team, and by healthy i mean Kawhi/PG/Harden/Zubac/Powell
The Warriors aren't beating anyone. They have way too many roster holes to win a playoff series. Maybe Steph can magically win a series for them, but they aren't beating a good team in a 7 game series.
A healthy Lakers team could beat anyone, and lose to anyone. If they get the 8 seed and play the Wolves, they'd probably be favored to win the series, and for good reason.
I don't know why, but i dont' expect Phoenix to do anything, nor am i afraid of them. They just seem like a bunch of individuals over there.

They're essentially locked into the top 4, barring a complete meltdown which I imagine is like a 1 or 2% to happen type thing.
They're still a solid team and will still likely be the best defense in the NBA. They have 20 games left and 6 games up on the 5 seed, they'd have to go something like 8-12 or 7-13 to realistically have a shot to drop to 5. I mean, it could happen, but I'd argue there's just as good a chance they go 13-7 as they do to go 7-13.

This definitely opens the door for a potential Minn fall to 4. We just need to stay at 5. I like our chances against a Kat-less Minnesota.
It would be devastating if that matchup is ripe for the picking and we fall into a 3-6 matchup with the Clips.

a Minny 1st round matchup in a 4-5 series is our best case scenario imo

Yeah, my gut is that we match up the worst against the Thunder, but a MIN without KAT is probably the easiest.

Even before the Kat injury I wanted minny. Zion will make Gobert weep on the court

Didn’t know that about KAT and Minnesota. I’ll gladly take a 5 seed if it means matching up with them. We went 2-2 against them with him.
They’re only 2.5 games ahead of Clippers with 20 left to play still and 3 of those are against Denver so could easily see them dropping to the 4 seed. Not enough games left for us to gain 6 games on them though and overtake them for the #4.

2-2 is somewhat misleading as well. One of the games we lost was without Zion, CJ, Herb, Trey, Jose and Naji. The other (one point loss) was without Zion, CJ, Trey and Jose.

Should’ve been 3-1 for sure and 3 straight wins for us. That second lost was a 1-pt loss that I remember Pels blew on top of all those guys being out
