This assumes the LeBron version doesn’t flop so badly it kills the franchise.
For perspective, it has been about 23 years since the first one.

Sources: Golden State is planning to offer All-Star Klay Thompson a 5-year, $190M maximum contract when free agency opens Sunday at 6 PM ET --- which is expected to accelerate process of GM Bob Myers and Thompson’s agent, Greg Lawrence, quickly reaching formal agreement.

It seems to me that if they can move Capela, they should be able to get Butler assuming he wants to go there. It won't be hard to find takers for Gordon & Tucker.

Myers has the easiest job. He has an unlimited budget.

So Houston just has to give enough stuff to Philly to get them to S&T. I am 110% ready for a Harden-CP3-Buckets lockeroom.

i think it will take a public pronouncement from butler's team to force the issue. he doesnt have any leverage otherwise...
he can sign a 5 yr max with PHI
he can sign a 4 yr max with any team with space
what he can't do is sign with HOU

You're right. I'm an idiot.
Was thinking about it like moving these deals would allow him to just sign there.

I think everyone knew Klay was staying with the Warriors.

Laker fans insisted Klay was in play for them.

If they can clear the space, I think he ends up there. Philly can lose him for nothing or get some assets. He doesn't have a real agent, but Jimmy knows how to get his arse traded.

Kings supposedly ready to offer Barnes 4 years, 90 million at the start of free agency.
Not sure there is a luckier player in the league.
Had he gone to any other team but GS, in almost any other 2 FA classes, the guy would probably be about 100 million dollars poorer.
Meanwhile, a guy like Beverly has earned like 25 million for his entire career.

Well even though my reasoning was wrong to begin with
I still think moving Gordon & Tucker will be relatively easy if HOU wants to.

A ring, a gold medal and over $160 million in career contracts if he gets that offer from SAC.
Being Harrison Barnes doesn't seem too bad.

Milwaukee guard George Hill will be waived and become a free agent, league sources tell @The Athletic @Stadium. Hill had a terrific finish to the season and will be a sought-after combo guard on the market. Bucks are working to find space to re-sign Hill, too.

I’d like to have George Hill. Seems like a vet we would like to have.
But I think I’m about to experience some serious sticker shock with some of these dudes.
