I assume Mikal has gotten too good to be traded for one of our "stars"...so...can somebody please come up with a way to get Brandon Miller...before he gets TOO good, also...or is he already there?

Why in the world would CHA ever consider trading him? He's exactly the kind of piece that they would want to build around. Please give me one good reason that they wouldn't just hang up instantly.

Uhh...pity...for our beloved Pelicans? Seriously, could we have gotten Miller pre-draft...for Ingram? I started to ask about Zion...but I didn't want to stir up too much trouble.

You keep doing this. You harped on Bridges and now Miller. Have either of these guys ever been available? I've never seen anything that said those teams wanted to move those players. So why fixate on them?

I harped on Bridges...starting around Christmas of 2022...when he was averaging around 15 PPG for the Suns. Look it up...that was back when I was getting abused for suggesting I'd trade BI straight up for MB.

I woulda traded for Miller pre-draft (once again, look it up)...for just about whatever it took. And this was when nearly everybody else was praising Scoot.

At some point, the Pelicans are gonna HAVE to make a risky trade...maybe a bit early...to get out of their current "Batman & Robin" problem. Either of Bridges or Miller would qualify as a forward-looking trade...back when I first recommended them. These 2 trains have probably already left the station...so I'll let you know when I see the next one coming.

Tons of games that will effect our standing tonight.

Kings at Cavs
Lakers at Hornets (alarm bells will be sounding if they lose that one)
Mavs at 76ers
Clippers at Hawks

??

They just beat the Celtics and Knicks on the road.. They're 3.5 games out of the 6th seed, and you guys always seem to think they're on the brink of collapse...

They just lost Vanderbilt for the season.

And the end of their Feb schedule/ beginning of their March schedule is brutal.

B/c they are. an injury to the oldest player in the league and they will be a below .500 team.

We might have been able to use BI or Zion, pre-draft, to get Miller. That's because the draft is always a risk. The guy that we liked more than Miller, for example, has turned out to be a bust, at least relative to his draft slot.

But Miller has proven himself worthy of being a high pick, so Charlotte will want to build around him. There's absolutely zero chance they would trade him.

It is still his rookie year and Portland has been relatively devoid of talent thanks to the Dames trade.

He hasn’t been great by any means but there isn’t much talent around him, especially if it is icy and Ayton calls out.

It's certainly too early to be done with Scoot and label him a but.

But there should be monster red flags and major concerns given his play for 2 reasons. Rookies struggle, that's fine. He's on a different level of struggle. Rookies struggle, but you can see the flashes and glimpses here and there. With Scoot, you're either never seeing it or it's very rarate. His bad play is soooooo bad. The other reason is the uber athleticism and comps to Wall/Rose/Westbrook and all those other dudes...he's not even half as athletic as those dudes. I don't even know if he's considered above average athleticism for NBA standards. I don't follow prospects, but how a guy could be comped to dudes with insane athleticism and then never remotely show that is just weird to me, and I don't know why no one is talking about that ever.

Check out the Grizzlies starting lineup today, oof. Of course, Pels had to face Morant (with a ton of help from the refs) twice.

OKC and Minnesota both lost tonight, so Pels are only 5.5 games back of 1st. We now play the new 1st place team tomorrow night at LAC.

I just looked at the nba schedule for the next week and a half, lots of cannibalism will take place in the west. Hopefully we can benefit with a 2-1 road trip
