Should have been done...many years ago. Will eliminate the "intentional pause"...before throwing up a "heave". Can't believe it took the NBA this long...to figure it out.

if the game was on the line, and the team was down 1 or 2, I don't think players would hesitate to do it whether it counted or not. this is more for the end of qtr, when it probably wont matter but will exciting to see more shots.

I think what should happen is 1 full game should be officiated/reviewed/played the way the last 30 seconds is currently. Game will last over a day. Then maybe they will wake up and decide to treat the last 30 seconds, like the first 47:30.
