NAW

I wonder if NAW is in a big mental slump. His demeanor seems shot and when he makes a mistake Gentry gets in his arse. But when Jackson does, nothing is really said to him. In the game last night he was only 2 for 12 from the floor. I'm just wondering what's going on with him.

He just doesn’t have much of a defined role right now. Jaxson got better by playing, so will NAW. They won’t keep all of this guard depth forever, minutes will open for him probably next season...unless Didi takes them from him.

Yeah there's really a glut of players at the guard positions on this team so it's difficult for him to find consistent minutes. When he gets in I'm sure he feels the need to press and try to make something positive happen so he gain more PT.
Whereas with Jax, we're so thin at center (especially when Zion was out) that he could go out and make mistakes and still be out there because we don't have many other options.
I still believe NAW has a bright future, and hopefully watching guys like JJ and Jrue will help him when he starts to get more minutes the next couple seasons.

Rookies who aren’t great athletes take longer to develop, especially since his role is not established yet.
He’s basically out there trying to play to his current strengths and it looks disjointed.
Gonna take a while but the intangibles are there.

I will admit i don't know all the intricacies involved with our g-league team, but would it have been possible for him to play this season there? With as few minutes as we have available here he vould've been the lead guard there. Idk, maybe him practicing here with our vets is better experience. Just curious.

Frank having better defense is what’s keeping him on the floor.
NAW has a higher ceiling with his shot and passing but, he doesn’t get the time to get into a rhythm. It’s pretty clear when he gets in he’s forcing the action too.

This doesn't seem like a bad idea. Especially someone who is a shooter. Send him down for 3 or 4 games. Let him be the main option and see how that looks.

I would say that's what the team believes. They could send NAW any time they wanted, they even hired 2 assistant coaches this year with the specific role of bouncing between the Pels and Bayhawks as needed.

Frank is just more decisive and explosive at this point of his career.
Time will tell but I feel Frank is just ahead if him bc of time in the league and working with Jrue in the off-season
Once NAW gets past this season and gets to really start being an NBA players I think he will pass up Jackson by a good bit
