Nance wanting to come back makes Jax expendable.

I've never seen a Hornet/Pelican team where I tell myself we just need to run it back and grow.

This is the team. Even Nance wants to stay. frick Jax ship his arse out and get Hart as your backup pg

Yep, if we can extend Nance, by all means it's time to pull the plug on the Jax experiment.

No, Jax isn't worth anything in a trade, and he's now a great backup 4. Nance is JV's backup at the 5. Billy is our only other big, because we aren't keeping Snell.

So, if we were to dump Jaxson, then we'd just have to go find another backup big, and who would we get who's better for less money?

There is absolutely no way that we would go into next season with only four bigs.

If we dump someone to bring Josh back, it has to be Graham.

I don’t really view them as similar players at all

And with the consistency that players seem to make year 3/4 jumps, if we can keep him for a reasonable amount I don’t see reason to get rid of him

That’s probably the plan I’d imagine. Unless you literally can’t get anything for him.

Jax still not fully grasping the game of basketball makes him expendable.

He has moments where he looks like he may be turning the page but I also wonder if his antics the past offseason lines up with the culture that’s being built

I think we use Hayes and the laker pick to move up a few spots

Why are you acting surprised Nance wants to comeback that was always the plan he's under contract that's why Portland included him in the deal to get off his contract.

We moved Jaxson into a starting role and enjoyed our most successful stretch of the season, and now we have posters who think that he isn't going to be good enough to back up Zion next season?

Adding zion back as a starter is obviously going to be light years better than Jax at pf, and at that point you have to ask whats more important, a backup guard or backup big. 10/10 I'd go get a guard like Hart over a pf like Jax.

Jax, Graham and a pick would get you a good veteran.

If the pick is lower than 5 then a trade for immediate help is the way to go.

I think Nance and Trey will beat him out for minutes. I'm not saying he gets no minutes but he was averaging 26 as a starter, I think he goes back to 10-15 MPG. I'd also view him as a big wing in terms of the rotation, so there might be some games where the matchup calls for Naji or more Trey and not Jax.

If we move up in the draft using Jax as a sweetner, Griff is the best GM of all time.

No way a team with a top 8 pick in the lottery is stupid enough to take that on and move down in a fairly weak draft.

If a team thinks he's a 28-30 minute per game dude, he'll have more value to us in a trade than playing 12-15 minutes a night for us.

Jax haters are the most stupid people on the board imo. We happen to have the luxury of bringing him off the bench next year and allowing him to keep developing around multiple superstars. “Nah ship his arse out”. Genuinely stupid take

Sorry for wanting my team to be good and get rid of the non-good players on my team.

It depends on who we draft.

Get a Jabari Smith, then try to trade Jax for a shooter off the bench like McDermott (I think Spurs would bite on that)
