The next day I believe is when Willie had a press conference and called it a sprain/contusion then also.
I mean obviously it’s gotta be more, unless BI just has a bone issue where bone bruises don’t heal. I know he cannot play through pain, that much has been made evident throughout his career.

would say he is close - maybe 2-3 weeks?
Doc, can we speed this up by rubbing a little dirt on it?

quote:Nah, the team initially reported contusion on Twitter and the 1st couple of days after it happened, Willie himself called it a contusion.
Don't think the team ever reported it as a sprain. A reporter referred to it as a sprain if I recall.
After a few days, the official report was changed to a bruise and never directly discussed again.

The doctors have had their chances. It's time to bring in a specialist.
I'm serious, even if it's just for placebo effect. Fly in some acupuncture or ayurvedic expert and let Eastern medicine have a shot. What do we have to lose?

I get the frustration w Ingram
But the umbrage over a brain injury is unacceptable

Its almost certainly the case, but the Pelicans consistently do themselves no favors whatsoever with their reporting on injuries.
Bingo—they did the same thing with the hamstring injury last year. They ask us to care, be committed and support the team, but lack the common decency give proper updates. Not having info even impacts the casuals.
I don’t think most of us would have these issues with any of the injuries if we were given updates and sound info.
I said this during the hamstring fiasco—either the medical staff is incompetent or they are liars.

Yeah, and correct me if I am wrong, the leagues have a set protocol that you have to pass following a concussion to be activated. I'm frustrated about the toe, but the concussion was completely reasonable amount of missed time.

Yeah I’m not really sure why the concussion is even a discussion. Brain injuries are definitely unique to the player. And he had a unique concussion bc the blow was largely to his nose
We got some certified hardasses on this board really trying to brush off a concussion. I get the discusssion regarding the other injuries. The concussion injury should be off limits. The dude tried to play through it after it happened and he was obviously not right, so they shut him down for a period of time.

A big toe is much more serious than it sounds.
I think BXI would be back by now but he doesn't feel like this is his team any more. Last year, the Pelicans were Brandon's team. He was the undisputed team leader by teammates fans and management. He played during the playoffs with a broken fingers.
CJ has changed the team dynamics.

He just have to rub a lil ear wax on it and it should be fine.

I just hope Zion and Brandon aren't injured so long that the playoffs become in question.

Just curious, what are you basing all of this information?
We don't or shouldn't know any of Ingrams medical information, except what the team or Ingram releases. That isn't much and I don't trust anything the team reports. So how do we know any "true" details of his injury or recovery?
He'll play when he wants and sit out when it suits him, same as it has been for practically everybody on the team. Weak culture with no killer instint..

You're certain the staff is lying about the toe bruise but even more certain he actually had a concussion from getting his nose tickled. Makes sense.

Maybe next year the medical staff can come from LCMC/LSU/Tulane partnerships…
With Ochsner that deep into Benson pockets, you think they'll be okay with that?

I do wonder how much BI likes Zion being the man.
