The Pelicans Culture of injury is real. Now some of it is guys who just don't want to play, going back to Eric Gordon's every other day crap all the way to BI's 2-month toe injury recently.

But a whole lot of bad injury luck mixed in there too.

Injuries have led to many a disastrous decisions/directions in our history.

Injuries basically derailed the AD era entirely and made Demps make moves that didn't work out (sometimes due to injury). If we had had positive injury luck during that period we may have had some real playoff runs.

Just remember we didn't get a fully healthy Jrue for like 2 years after we got him, and then we lost time a few years later when his wife got sick.

Asik went from a solid center and great on D to a below-average guy when injuries hit him here.

The Asik extension was arguably Demps’ worst move, which is saying something.

If there is any good news here, the Pels have a ton of ball handlers.

I believe it was Murray who driving was fouled and fell on left block but braced his fall with his hand and live I thought it looks awkward. Player that did this then missed first and made second free throw. Play by play says Murray shot two free throws at 9:54 in 4th, so if someone has recording then check tape at that point for potential time injured?

If someone has the recording check the 4th at 9:54.

Yes I noticed it immediately.

Very noticeably wouldn’t let teammates help him up by that hand.

Zion couldn't even suit up for one game so that we could have our new starting look on the court

If he missed exactly 30 days, he misses 16 games. We play a lot of games early. 2 of those are NBA Cup Games (if anyone cares)

If he missed 36 days, that's 18 games I think

Break that doesn’t require surgery to reset.

Curious what surgery risks are (specific to injury and beyond anesthesia, etc) because for an average five day healing difference it seems like surgery could be a way to go vs nonsurgircal and hoping it heals but then later needing surgery and combination extending total time missed.

A compound fracture is one whereby the bone breaks through the skin. That was not what this was.

Knowing the Pels they’ll go the non surgery route and then around day 30 realize surgery is needed
